I've been having trouble with condoms recently and how to apply them properly

Because I'm uncut what I've done in the past is retract my foreskin and put the condom on like that, but recently the tip of my penis has started feeling sensitive and hurting slightly when I pulled back and rolled the condom on. It's not sore or anything

I have tried applying one without retracting the foreskin, but I read it can cause the condom to slip off. is it safe to use it like this for sex?

Ask your school nurse if you have one. Or go and talk to a doctor.

Well, if you have a tigh foreskin you have work on it. If you don't pull foreskin down often it will be tigh and your head will be sensitive. If the tigh foreskin is making you hurt when pull down. You may need to see a doctor to consider about circumcision.

Thanks :)

I pull back every day to clean and there's no trouble with that

It's the moment the head is exposed and touches the condom that makes it start to get uncomfortable

Well, you head is very sensitive. So does make you uncomfortable if try for first few time. Once you are not allergic to rubber that will be good.

True. It feels as if the condom is too tight around the tip

You SHOULD pull your foreskin back to put a condom on, but you dont have to pull it all the way back down the shaft. Most important, put lube on the head of your penis before you put the condom on. If youre uncut and not used to the head being exposed or touched, the sensitivity will kill. Another thing you might think about though is if you are allergic to latex, it can make you hurt. Is it real pain and itching? See a doctor. Or is it just really sensitive, kinda like it is right after you cum? That you just get used to, but using lube under the condom (just on the head, not the shaft) will help a lot. Without it, its like rubbing a dry rubber glove on the exposed head, and that would definitely hurt.

Thanks, the feeling is more like a tingling and awareness because the head is not used to be exposed to the open air (I know that sounds strange). It's like if you bash your foot you immediately want to touch and hold that area to cover it up

I hadn't thought about the latex allergy though so thanks for the consideration there

Why should foreskin be pulled back?

Why should foreskin be pulled back?

I may be wrong, but I read somewhere that you should

Why should foreskin be pulled back?

That's a good question. My parents taught me to pull it back to put a condom on, but I never really questioned why. Interesting idea for some research if I get really bored.

It makes it easier for the condom to slip off.

I totally agree with this post, and I would add that you probably should try different brands of condoms to see if things get better for you. You definitely need to slightly retract your foreskin, but I agree with the above you don't have to do it all the way. Lube is definitely your friend, and use water based lube when you're using a condom.

Like mentioned above, if using a condom is really hurting you is uncomfortable, then you should talk with a doctor because you don't want to have sex without a condom since its your first line of defense.

Interesting. Ok, here is what I learned today. You are supposed to learn something every day, and what better subject than condoms?

I took the easy way out. I asked my mom. Easier than research, but she did tell me to go look it up! I thought she knew everything, but apparently not. Actually she was just busy and didn't want to deal with me at the time. But here it is.

You should pull the foreskin back to right behind the glans. Put lube on the tip of your penis. Hold the foreskin back as you roll the condom down over it. If you let go too early, it will push the condom forward. But the condom should hold the foreskin back. If you leave the foreskin over the head (if yours does that when you are hard), the foreskin might move like it does when you jerk off, and make the condom slip forward and come off.

Ok, so that part I already knew, but now I have actually read it. The part I didnt know was that they make different condoms for cut guys and uncut guys. The part of the condom that fits over the head of your penis is shaped differently! That is totally weird! Like Trojan ultra-enz. Or Lifestyles Pleasure shape ultra. Names don't really tell it... but I notice on one package (the Lifestyles, since that's what I have) it says in tiny print "extra head room".

Condoms should be kind of tight. If you use magnums, and if your foreskin moves around inside the condom, your foreskin will move foreward and push it off. It has to fit tight around the bottom.

So that's more than you wanted to know.

Thanks for that, it makes a lot of sense and helped a lot :)

Have you tried a few different type of condom?
Perhaps there is something in/on the condom that is irritating you (like some pleasure ones have beads/ribs...
Yes you have to pull your forskin back at least a bit.

Maybe look for a bigger size condom?

Maybe you should just get bigger condoms!

Thanks for the help everyone.

I've started masturbating using a condom regularly because I want them to feel much more comfortable for when I use them later in life properly. If I need to see a doctor I will, but I don't need to just yet

Also, it may sound strange but I don't like relying on my hand so much and with a condom you kind of have to try a bit harder so it makes it more meaningful

So when I masturbate each week it's with a condom on to try out different sizes and styles. I'm hope this idea of mine will serve me well in the future
