I make friends with people I get along well with. There is no standard or criteria for these people; they just happen. There are trends and patterns, but no universal rule.

My criteria for a friend is generally nice and funny and caring and makes effort. In better friends I like when we can have debates and deep conversations about nothing.

Same for me here. It just happens, and that's that. As long as they don't talk too much stuff behind my back, and they tell me when I've done something wrong, or hat they didn't like, provided we get along good we'll be good friends.

-Sometimes my sense of humor is a bit.. of an acquired taste, to say. So someone who can appreciate that really stands out to me.
-Obviously, willing to hang out and do stuff
-Can talk about serious stuff, but also fuck around
-Doesn't bullshit me just because we're friends
-Isn't dumb as a brick
-Not totally self-centered

Just personality, nothing else really matters. That's usually how friends are made.

If I click with someone when I start talking to them or spending time with them, they're a friend. I do consider emotional well-being on occasion. If they're not a person I feel healthy or safe around, I'm not afraid to cut them off but otherwise, it's just a matter of whether or not we get along.

My criteria for a friend is someone who will talk to me nicely and who wants to be friends with me. Nothing else matters.
