I am gay but am trying daily to free myself from the facism of sexuality.

Yes there is a Cult of facism of sexuality, think about it:

If you ask straights if they where born straight they'll say yes there where ,but if you say you where born gay,bi,lesbian, transexual, some will practically scream "No you where not no ones born that way it's a choice"

Then on the other side of the coin there are a large amount of gays, bis, lesbians, transexuals who if hetros who disagree with them will come out in mass screaming they are HOMOPHOBIC,and HATERS and do every thing they can to deny they their right as Americans and as individuals to express their opinions and say what it is they have to say,and act like we members of the GBLT community are the only ones that have a right to express our opinions!

So yes there is a Cult of facism of sexuality!

Fascism?

Can you perhaps define that word for me?

I don't think I have ever heard of lgbt people screaming they aren't born that way and they have a choice. If the question is addressed to them, please make sure to get the answer from them as well.

That is true for any major movement. Take feminism for example. Aggression is often seen as means to get visibility and mass mobilization. Only the lgbt movement is still not as widespread.

If you're concerned you could be seen as a part of the movement and don't want to be, I don't see how you can help it. In a generalised and shallow sense, every lgbt person would be seen in the way depicted commonly, the ones who know you and matter would know better. I would not worry about it.

I don't understand how you consider it fascism though or a cult for that matter.

I fail to understand this post?
I think that the reason many in the LGBTQ+ community call those who claim sexuality is a choice homophobes is because in many cases, people who bring it up that bluntly are often uneducated on, and don't understand sexuality.
I hardly think that it is fascism.
The concept of free speech allows someone to express an idea or opinion freely, but they still have to accept the consequences of that statement. Those consequences may be acceptance, or the application of a certain label, but they have to be considered and accepted.

I don't care about sexuality. It isn't a defining attribute of personality. I dislike those vulgar pride parades. If those half naked people who participate want people not to treat them like animals, they should stop behaving like them when they go out in tight leather boxers and do erotic stuff in the street. They should be charged for indecent exposure for all I care.

I don't quite understand the point you're trying to make. Can you elaborate a bit more?

(nice try but the post was quite clear that I meant some straights will claim GBLT's are not born that way!Read the post)

the word cult was metaphor,as to facism well when you deny people who oppse you their right to say what they want to then you just as well be a facist

I agree it could be interpreted that way as well. I personally found it a bit vague. Even so, i don't think your statement relates to fascism.

I didn't quite get what cult was supposed to be a metaphor for. Also that is not the definition of fascism. I suggest you read a bit more about it.

That's actually a really damn cool word. Kudos and thanks for expanding my vocabulary.

Everything's a cult if your tinfoil hat's tight enough.

I've never heard a straight person say that they were born straight. Your sexuality depends on the experiences you had growing up and how you were raised. If it was genetic then scientists would have found a gene for it, like the physical attributes of your body.

There have actually been many studies on this and it's been thought that there is some genetic link that we may have not found yet. In fact, the evidence says there probably is one. There is still more science to be done, here. There's no reason to jump to conclusions before looking at the studies.

I've seen that before. It's just that I think it's probably relating to the fact that they are twins. There are a bunch of stories all the time of how people become straight after being gay... and how people are attracted to one gender one day and another the next.

Well then those people don't know whats up
