Yeah so ive always had v lines, even when i wasnt trying to stay fit they just about survived, but i never thought about this before:

Are they supposed to be hard?

Like mine are really visible, but theyre pretty soft like you can just press them down. But if theyre made because of muscle, should they be hard?

I mean, my stomach is pretty good in general, my bottom 2 abdominals are weak as fuck, but generally ok so i dont get why these muscles would be so soft if they would harden through exercise

I have confused myself, help.

They should be hard, they're muscles, like the poster above said. You may be confusing your V lines for just the general shape of your abdomen? Usually V lines come with a lot of hard work in the ab region and a really, really low body fat percentage, so if you did have a V, you'd see it form and know it definitely is one because of the hard work you've put into it.

Exactly, theyre muscles. I literally spent like half an hour working this out. I looked into it and they are related to your bottom pair of abdominals and that is like my weakest area of my bodess so it makes sense. Ive definitely got the body fat percentage for it though so we'll see

Thanks chaps

They should be at least when you flex. I'm quite the skinny guy, and even not working out too much i do have them. I don't think you have to work out that much if you have thin complexion

I havent been working out when my exams were on, ive only just started but ive been thinking more about eating so ive slimmed down a little. To be honest i think my body fat might be too low but if im gaining muscle to counter it doesnt really matter.

If i notice a difference from my working out im definitely posting on here because i havent been trying for like half a year so i will be a dick and show off :P

I'm pretty skinny, but I don't have V-lines. Like others have said, they are supposed to be hard, pretty much like the rest of the muscles in the abdominal area. Just exercise a bit more your obliques and they'll start to become more defined and toned. You need to make sure, though, that there's not fat tissue above them, otherwise it will always seem soft because you're not touching the muscle itself, but the fat layer instead.

Yeah there is a huge difference between my upper and lower half. Like my top 6 abs are solid, then my bottom 2 are hardish but pressable, and so is that runway to your pu-bone. Like when i worked out regularly i was doing 300 sit ups but i can only do 30 leg raises
