I recently turned 14 and and somewhere in Tanner stage 2.5-3.5 in puberty and my voice still sounds like a 10 year old voice. I'm heading to highschool next time i start school and I'm concerned on when it will change... Although sometimes when i sing a note my voice gets kind of raspy, it used to not do that.

Just relax. It will happen and you yourself won't notice only others

My voice used to be squicky as hell at the beginning of high school but like at year 8 my voice started to break and now I get called batman by mates. Noone really cares about the sound of your voice noone said anything to me about it at the time. So dont worry

No need to worry. When you start school, there will be many kids going through the same things and you'll just be one of the many.

That makes me feel better but i'm probably gonna hate when it starts to break, as of now i can talk normally but if i try singing i cant keep a note, not sure if this means anything? I use to be able to keep a note

It means your vocal cords are changing, just not in a way that is noticeable when you speak :)

Don't worry about it too much, people progress differently, I remember people didn't believe I was the same person after my voice drop and growth spurt (6 inches!) from 8th to 9th Grade.

It's good to know that they are changing but not good that its slowly, but oh well. It also isnt all the time that i cant keep a note, and when i cant it just sounds raspy

If it makes you feel better i'm 15 1/2 and still have a really high voice xD

It's started cracking though, so I think it's about to break. Some people have told me it's gotten deeper over the last year but I can't hear much difference.

Puberty is a waiting game. Everyone develops differently.

I'm glad i at least sound like a 10 year old and not younger, but it would be nice to sound my age.

If this means anything, I remember in high school there were two guys I knew who had gotten really big and were probably the biggest kids in the class, but they both had really high pitched voices. It made no sense, and those two had voices that sounded like twelve year olds well into senior year. There was this other kid who honestly looked like he was twelve years old almost until the end of high school, but his voice was super deep by freshman year. My point is that puberty makes no sense, but in the end of the day everyone ends up in the same place.

Don't worry in time you will sound older. Im the opposite like you I sounded really low but I get told I look like a 13 year old even now I'm older then that and it sometimes I get angry because of the everyone telling be I look like a 13 year old but have a low voice like I'm 30 on my PS3

Puberty in a nutshell: Everybody's different, everybody has different thoughts about it, and it can sometimes produce funny results.
