I chose to learn French and Spanish at school for GCSE, and then followed up with French until AS Level before realising I wasn't that good at it.

Basically this! :D

I took Spanish, which I was good at, but I dropped it for my senior year. I have a very limited knowledge of German from distant relatives outside the US.

I took Spanish for a year and a half - which is funny because I was supposed to take it for three. Somehow my transcripts got misinterpreted and the difference between a yearly class system and a semester class system worked in my benefit.

I took French for a year and didn't really care for it. I'm going into my second year of Spanish and I like it so far. I'd like to learn Italian since my dad's side is Italian.

I've been personally looking into how to speak Spanish for about a week, and I'm taking my first Spanish class next year.

French is mandatory in Scotland until 15, and I wanted to take German, but the school didn't offer it. I'm now learning it on my own, with the help of Memrise. (http://memrise.com) It's really good, and is helping me learn some basic phrases.

Obviously English, but I also took four years of French, two of Spanish, seven of Mandarin Chinese, six of Japanese, and am self-studying several other languages on my own.

I'm not in school anymore, but I self-study Spanish and Portuguese.

Bom día. Eu gosto de falar Portugues.

Edit: I was also around and took Japanese when I was little, but I haven't done anything about it since I was 16 or so, maybe even younger than that

Edit edit: also, since Alex mentioned it, I guess Ruby, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML count

I will study Italian for eight years, now it's my 6th year finished, I suck at it, they enforce grammar and not conversation skills but expect us to know them.
English for twelve years
Studied Latin for two years, not particularly good at it.
I would like to study German
I am starting a course from Farsi this September
Slowly learning Hungarian

My native language is Polish, but I learn English, Spanish and a bit Latin (my school cares about tradition so much and everyone has Latin classes, I bet we're the only school in the city - there are about 30 high schools - where students learn it).
In the future I'd like to learn French, Italian and Swedish.

I would have picked up bahasa melayu in secondary school given a second chance, I qualified for it, and looking back it would have been a very useful skill to learn given that there are many native speakers around me and in my neighbouring country Malaysia. I tried to learn Japanese for a few months and it was easier for me because I already know Mandarin so I could understand kanji, but I can't read kanji, it's completely different from Chinese pronunciation. Also Japanese sentence structure is so complex. I still want to learn it, but I have other priorities at hand.

took french for a while, but in ontario it becomes optional in grade 10 and I personally found most of my french classes to be a waste of my time so I probably won't have any more classes on it

I found it surprising that more people learnt Spanish than English and French. The language I speak is English and I learn French at school

I'm learning French and I am B2 in it so I am not fluent yet. In college I might want to study Portuguese or Russian as a minor because they offer a scholarship for studying uncommonly taught languages.

I'm already forced to learn German French and English, could've added Spanish but I didn't feel like I would need it.
