How much you got to spend? What do you need it for?

GET A MAC!!!!!!!!!
Umm, what do you need in it, Microsoft Word, Internet, Ect. If so, a mac is good.
Or Gaming, if so, get a windows gaming laptop.

Macs are generally overpriced. If you're on a budget and don't need to do anything very intensive find a lower end laptop, who knows, it might even come with XP instead of Vista because they can do that on low-end ones.
First we need to know what you're going to be doing and your budget, of course.

It depends for what do you need it.
But I recommend you a MacBook or if you want something no to expensive by an HP

i have pretty much an unlimited budget (cuz my parent would let me borrow some money). but i go on here alot and play online games. so obviously id need internet. but i also type a lot of stuff for school so id need Word. and i absolutly do not want Vista unless i can get aa great deal. but i was hoping for like a specific name like the Inspiron 1720. but so far youve helped alot

I personally don`t like macs. They are not game friendly.
EDIT: I have a VIAO that came with Vista and I love it.

You'll be better off with a custom build if you can do it.

Custom build ones give you performance at a good price. Mac's are great, but overpriced too..

I recommend a custom build, you get more power and more compatibility in one place for a much cheaper place than a lame Mac or pre-built bloatware PC/laptop you find on the market.
