Hi,

If it's Summer where you at the moment, have any of your computers/devices had any difficulty coping with the heat (whilst indoors)?

If so, what do you do to resolve this?

With me, some of my laptops have been struggling with heat flow recently - i.e. removing hot air from the internal system / keeping the computer cool - so I'd appreciate if you have any suggestions.

So, coolling issues huh?

Try getting cooling pads for your devices, direct fans at them; and/or, if you're willing to risk opening the laptops up do brain surgery. Try cleaning the fins of the heatsink, and the fan with an air can. DO NOT use water or try to poke out any dust from the heatsink if you do this.

Yep...
I managed to persuade my dad to help me unscrew my laptop and clean using compressed air.
So far, I've noticed an improvement in the uptime of the fans, so I guess it was probably clogged up with dust previously.

So thank-you for your suggestion :)

Haha yeah I do, but the problem with that is it's circulating hot air around the room. I really ought to invest in new room coolers tbh!

Same here. Mostly because I've got a shitload of cooling devices, and I clean my PC (Open it up and blow the dust out) once or twice a month. Useful thing to do.

Haven't had a lot of problems with heat. I have an all in one cooler from Corsair to cool my CPU, and even overclocked to 3.6ghz (from 3.2) it stays at around 40 degrees Celsius. I tried overclocking it more, about 4.2ghz, but I wasn't happy with the temps I was getting. I kind of blame it on summer heat, maybe I'll try again in the winter.

to cope with the heat i shut my laptop down and go walk around and enjoy the nice weather. Seriously though i more than once put a closed ice bag underneath it.

Cooling pads is a good idea, like Michael said.
Don't keep your device on for too long, let it have a break from time to time.
You can try tweaking your BIOS settings to set a proper fan speed.
Or you can install fan controlling software.
