Guys 12,13, and 14 are guys that should be interested in you. An age gap that goes above 15 it a little concerning, at least it is to me.

I think it all depends on the individuals. People are all different.
What age guys are you attracted to?

Well the law obviously prevails wherever you live.
But law aside, it seems arbitrary and what works or doesn't is on a case by case basis.
I've seen some couples with as small an age gap as 1 or 2 years, to as large as 12 years.
But what makes the relationship toxic or healthy is if there is good forethought to the years ahead (aka: plan for future).
Having that conversation about how either person would react to cheating and what that scenario hypothetically entails, if pregnancy or STD's happen what's the game plan, and what each expect from the sexual side of a relation is crucial.
Are your personalities fitting well together not including sex. What about ideals about life, politics, educational, career and money goals.
Especially the money issue, like is either party going to be offended at splitting the bill on dates, or do both individuals not care about abstract meanings about how money works regarding it having merit towards a conveyance of affection.
These factors matter more than an age gap in of itself.
The general rule or belief is though the younger partner tends to be naive or innocent about life in ways that the older party has a bigger chance of manipulating their partner. The power dynamics tend to not be equal.

That being said I've seen it work and I've seen it fail.

Well, you are 13 yrs old. Wait for few years, the boys around your age are not that good yet. Enjoy your time with friends and family, relationships with boy will make thing more complicated for you. Just advise for you.

I would suggest for a girl of 13 anywhere between 12-15 is normal, 16 would be pushing it.

At my school we have 14 year old girls losing their virginity to 18-19 year old guys. I'd say 13-16.

If youre 13 then i would say 12 is the cut off, but the other end of the scale is a weird one.
I known someone 13 who has went out with someone 18, but shes pretty mature for her age (to the extent shes not a virgin, dont even ask she confuses me too.
But i would say probably up to 15 but you'll know because you'll get ok with people a certain age better.
If youre going 16+ i wouldnt make it public, i know a 14 year old who got in all kinds of shit for going with a 17 year old

Any person over the age of 16 who would go out with a 13 year old is an odd person to me. The fact is, most 13 year olds look a lot younger and it would just seem wrong when most 16 year olds look almost like adults.

Someone who is in the 11-16 age group is what I'd call appropriate.

I agree with that, I think it makes sense. I would say in terms of likelihood a certain age group would be attracted to you that because of large differences in puberty during this period, that guys from your age group are more likely to be attracted to you.

I certainly can't say I'm not! Just so long as the particular person isn't under the age of thirteen. At your age so long as you're with another teenager it's perfectly fine in my eyes.

In a couple of months I will be 18. In my state, if I have sex with someone under 16, it would be statutory rape and I'd go to jail. Forgetting about the law, it seems like you'd have much more in common with those closer to your own age.

I think while you're that age school year (I presume 7th or 8th grade?) is the more important factor. I would say the general rule is to keep any potential BFs within 1 grade of yourself. So if you are in 8th, a 15-year-old 9th grader would be perfectly normal in my eyes. A 15-year-old 10th grade thoughand the gap become a bit concerning. There are could be some exceptions I guess, as sometimes people can repeat or skip a grade, but generally the one school year rule is what I would be using particularly at age 13.

so 13 - 16
IMO
12-14 = Totally 100% fine
15 = Depends on person, if you're late 13 and the other person is early 15 it should be okay.
16 = Pushing it, might be ok in some rare cases but not the best idea.
17-18 = DON'T
11 = If it's an 11 y/o who's ready for a real relationship (rare) than it's cool
