A few weeks ago I brought my mother to school to sign a waiver for an activity I was going to participate in that my ex-boyfriend was put in charge of helping people sign up (he was hanging out in one of the rooms waiting for other kids to bring in a parent to sign a portion of the waiver).

We signed the paper and after that he started chatting up a storm with my mother and with me. It was mostly him doing all the talking and my mother and I adding a few comments here and there & nodding in response. He spouting out facts and even mentioned some more personal info in the conversation. We all ended up talking for over an hour before he finally ran out of things to tell us and my mother and I went back home for lunch.

EXTRA NOTE: My crush and my mother hadn't seen each other for a while at that moment in time. The last time they saw each other was right after we had broken up.

Do you think there is any reason for him to suddenly start up a lengthy conversation with me and with my mother?

eh maybe trying to get info form her. maybe trying to get her to have you get back with him. or maybe, they had a connection and it is just normal to talk even though you are no longer with him

I don't think it's anything to be too concerned about, unless the personal info in question was vital. But I think it's likely that your ex and your mom are just chill. I've seen parents close to their kid's SOs a whole lot.

Even if he were trying to pry, it's not like he can do much.

it could have been small talk gone wrong and he just didnt know how to cut it off without sounding stupid. But like Branden said above, maybe hes just chill with your mom - nothing big.

Maybe he just thinks of you as a friend and, as friends tend to do, just wanted to have a conversation with you and her. You're looking way too deep into this.
