ugh yes i love my dad and yes he just got diagnosed with cancer and maybe i should be a little more worried but im not my dads strong and the cancer he has isn't very severe im really tired of hearing your ada has cancer im so sorry it just upsets me it makes me feel like people automatically assume that he's gona die or something i love my dad tons but im not sorry that he has cancer because even though i wish he didn't, it happened for a reason and it makes me even more happy now when he plays with me or my sister's because i dont want to look at what he cant do anymore i dont want to think about all the surgeries or his feeding tube i want to think about who he still is and what he can do if theres anyone to feel sorry for it's my dad because one mistake did this to him because he smoked just like many other healthy people but he wasnt as lucky maybe i just dont want everyone to say their sorry because it makes everything reall and i hate that becuase i miss sitting on his lap and running with him but now i cant

Seems like you have the right idea, looking at the positives and not the negatives, keep it up. As you said, lots and lots of people have really good outlooks with cancer nowadays and it will change him as a person, probably in positive ways, And it will probably make you even stronger as a family.

You're dealing with this in an extremely admirable way, don't let what other people say upset you, they probably are just finding it difficult to know what to say.

You have an awesome attitude! Keep that going, but do keep us posted, and if you need some support sometimes, or just a place to vent and rant, we're here.

Keep looking at the positives! Having that kind of attitude will make coping easier for all of you, and it will bring you all together. I wish the best for your family, do keep us posted! As for what others say, they're probably just unsure how to deal with the situation. Try not to let it bother you, they're just trying to show that they care, even if it's not in the best way.
