My experience of camping with other guys is that what usually happenned was that everyone wanked inside his own sleeping bag, not making a show of it but not really trying to hide it either. It just seemed to be assumed that everyone needed to do it before going to sleep.

Occasionaly someone was too shy or someone was a real exhibitionist and did it in the open but these were notably less common.

Id go with the bathroom idea at night (im sure you wouldnt be alone in that) or using a sock in your sleeping bag/bunk very discreetly. This works for me when I have to do it with others around, I lay on my back and make a tent with my knees so no one can see my hand moving up and down.

Personally I'd refrain from doing it (i.e. I'd wait until I get back home), it isn't as relaxing for your mind compared to if you were doing it at home, and plus privacy is often an issue too; other people might have issues with it.

If you really have to though, then I guess showers is probably your only option.

I have worked at a summer camp for a number of years now so I have gotten really good at figuring this one out because let's face it I can't go 9 weeks without a release. The shower is always an easy one, because this is usuAlly one of the few private places, however not as enjoyable. The second is say you need to take a dump and go do your business in the bathroom. At night I would often wait until my sleeping partners were asleep and finish in a sock or a dirty pair of boxers. Last and probably my favorite was go for a walk in the woods in the evening and find a quiet place to get one off, the excitement of getting caught helped.
