I have never had, but some of my friends did. Is it a usual thing?

Yes, my Mom talked to me when I was 14 and she already knew I started to become sexually active. By the time she gave me the talk I pretty much knew everything she talked about.

I forgot the exact age my dad had the talk with me, but when I was 8 or something around that age I had the softcore version and I think 10/11 is when my dad told me everything explicitly. Me and my family are basically nudists and are open about everything

Not sure if I had a real sit-down-lets-talk moment. Sex is an open subject in our house. When I started puberty, my parents started to talk about changes I was going through, and kind of did it as it happened, and would try to prepare me for what would happen next. They did the same with my sister (3 years older) so I already heard the girls part of the talk, even if I really didnt understand it all. But sex and nudity were never any big mystery, because it was just always an open subject. They knew I masturbated before I hit puberty, and talked about it and helped me understand what was happening. I knew what to expect when I first orgasmed because they had already explained that part to me.

In the last 2-3 years, my mom has become my best teacher. I can ask her anything and show her anything, and she's just made sure I was comfortable doing so. So I guess I had "the talk", but just spread over lots of years.

I've gotten little bits of 'the talk' in bits and pieces with my parents I guess. The first was about the basics of reproduction when I was about 11. When I was 12 and getting my period my mom talked to me some about what they were, how to deal with them along with some other puberty-related stuff that was beginning to happen around that age. At 14 my mom accidentally walked in on me masturbating and the next day just let me know it was natural, healthy and nothing to be ashamed of.

My parents have always been open to talk, but they have never forced the topic upon me.
I always had the feeling that its good to explore and dont be affraid of it, because they are relaxed about it. And I can ask if Im confused about anything.
But they never pulled out a chair for me and said: Sit down please, we have some important stuff we think its time for you to learn....
