Hey y'all! :D
So I recently decided to shave my pubes and it wasn't that bad as I shaved with the grain and all the other possible things that a google search on how to shave pubes would tell you.
However, about a week later, I'm having terrible itching on my pubes. Its more of the upper area near my hip. Little to no sign of redness/ ingrown hairs. I tried to wash it more thoroughly, fearing the cause was an infection.
Is anyone able to help me? I really don't want to pay the doc a visit for this! :(

You don't need to see the doctor.Just apply moisturizer lotion or aftershave when you're done shaving to avoid having that.

Any moisturiser? I just applied some before I posted my question

Well it's not instant, applying it over the next few days should help with the itch.It could just be the hairs growing back in.

moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! cant say it enough, but dont use anything that is alcohol based because it will burn, try t hings like baby oil, or mineral oil, it works for me and I never itch.

I don't fully shave anymore because of the itch. I just trim it down to a nice length and clean it up a bit. But yeah as others have said, moisturize after shaving to help reduce the itch!

The problem with shaving pubes is because it is itchy. Just apply the after-shave emulsion after shaving it, and whatever you do, when it is itchy, never scratch it hard.

You get used to it after a while. A few shaves later it won't itch!

You don't want to itch? Then don't shave. Simple.
My only experience is one spot on my throat where these few weird wiry hairs grow. I shaved them a couple times. They itched for 3 days. Now I just cut them with scissors once a week or so. Fortunately they are blonde and dont show. But it made me glad I dont have to shave yet, and I think i will NEVER shave my pubes cause I don't want to itch. I suspect the itch in a place that gets little air is probably a lot worse than facial/neck hair.

if you shave it enough it won't bother you anymore. that being said, yea the first few times it will. completely normal and nothing to worry about

i know exactly how you feel, as i have done the same, this itchyness is completely normal dont worry about is tomuch, it will eventually vanish as your hairs grow out. If it does persist for more than a couple of weeks then i would recommed to go the doctors but i believe taht it will diappear as it did with me. In the mean time i would recommed to use lotion/moisturiser. In the future i wouldnt recommed for you to shave your pubs but to trim them instead
this is what i do and my friends likewise. :D

You can just trim it if you don't want the itching :)
