Why do you think circumcision is so popular in USA?

Basic tradition. I wouldn't use the term "popular", more like common.

It is known to prevent masturbation and have "health benefits" when it comes down to HIV/STDs. This is a misconception.

It passes on either because dads want their son to look like them or because somehow, the doctor recommends it. In all honesty, the only difference is appearance which people find aesthetically pleasing.

I don't think it's popular. It's about fifty/fifty here. There are people who support circumcision, and there are people who don't think it's right.

There are pros and cons of both, so it's not an argument.

So for sexual education purposes, it's the choice of the parents as to what they want to do, and here in the United States, people are choosing either or, and it's kinda halfway.

I would say that religion plays a big part too.

It's certainly more popular there than here in the UK. Here it's about 99:1 in favour of uncircumcised.

Again, I wouldn't say popular. I still say it's half and half. We have lots of religions in the united states. Jewish being a popular one. Where circumcision is mandatory in many cases.

There are many different opinions on this issue, and popular I don't think is the right word to use. Maybe it's more known here based on preference by the parents, and religion and how people feel about the issue.

My brothers and me have a foreskin, and my best friend does too as well as the friends of my brothers that I've seen when swimming.
