So I'm 18 and haven't had a girlfriend (I feel depressed about that, but I try to not be too negative). I've been really good friends with a girl and we sometimes got sort of flirty with each other, but she's no longer someone I see much of at all. Point is, I'm not horribly shy around girls or anything, in fact I'm very extroverted and always saying funny stuff (or at least they think I'm funny).
Anyway, so unfortunately there's pretty much no girls at my school I have much if any interest in, except maybe one. I say maybe because I don't know if I'm actually interested in her or if I just want to get a girlfriend. She's very pretty, has a good sense of humour and from the times I've spoken with her (always with our friends around though) she's very easy to get along with. We never talk about anything serious, it's always just saying funny stuff or really light and dumb stuff to talk about. We also don't talk that often, it's kind of completely random if and when we'll talk, like sometimes I'll just be sitting near her and her friends and they'll start talking and then I'll say something or they'll say something to me and we'll all just start a conversation. She laughs pretty hysterically at some stuff I say, but I don't know if that's an indication that she likes me or just thinks I'm funny.
Anyway, I sometimes it'll be like a week or two and we won't talk, but then one day completely randomly we might talk, but it's always in a situation where one or more of both of our friend groups are there, so I don't know if she likes me at all or if we just get along when in social situations. I remember last year her friend asked me if I liked her, and I said she was pretty and I liked talking to her, but I don't know if she told her or not.
I'm kind of really tempted to be around her more or talk to her more, because I don't just want to keep waiting and waiting and then she gets a boyfriend and I lose any chance I might have had. But then at the same time I don't know how to talk to her more without it seeming forced. We have two classes together, but both of those classes there's a lot of people in our classes and I already have established places where I sit (I mean with who, basically), so it would be really random if I just started sitting near her (even though whenever we do sit near we usually at least exchange a few words and a laugh).
Okay, but yeah, I've gone so off-topic, I'm sorry. Basically I think I should make an attempt to hang around her more and talk to her more when possible, but I don't know how to do that without it seeming forced. It's also a bit tricky since it seems like it's her friend that is more interested in me, but I have no interest in her.
