This is my first thread in this section of the website and I decided to do it because I just reached 250 posts! I'd just like to know why everyone hates Nickelback. The lyrics to their songs are the most meaningful I've ever heard, their music sounds great, they have an extremely diverse style of music, and they're great to watch live. What's not to like about them?

Rammstein is a German Industrial Metal band.

I kinda like them (only heard their radio songs though, never bothered to look up their other stuff). But a lot of the hate they get (or at least why people tell me they hate them) is because they have some butt-rock qualities, which puts a lot of people of.

Most people I know don't like them. I don't know what their reason is, but personally I just find their music annoying. People will disagree with me, but I don't like them or whatever the sub-genre is

Honestly, I think the Nickelback hate is a product of sheep mentality.

If enough people say "it sucks" then the general belief is to not form your own opinion and just accept what you've been told. It multiplies until lots of people just say "they suck" automatically. Conversely, it's also the same mentality that gets artists with terrible or no talent to sell millions of albums. If there's enough press that says that something is good, then people will believe it.

It's also kind of like American Idol (or shows like it) where people vote for who they are told to by the judges. Sheep just go with the group.

Anyways, I don't have a problem with Nickelback. I like "Someone That You're With." The lyrics are cheesy fun. :)

I don't know if it's a troll campaign or not, personally I haven't listened to any of their music. I tried once just out of curiosity but it's simply not really my thing.

I really don't like most of their stuff, but I have to admit that there also are some songs like Lullaby and Edge Of A Revolution that I actually find quite amazing.

When it comes to the hate Nickelback receives I totally agree with Emerald Dream. It's just immature, stupid and unnecessary. There's so much bad music out there that receives not nearly as much hate as Nickelback. It really doesn't make sense to me.
