Alex's diary name is messed up.
Yes, I noticed. The Art Room was incredibly messed up, so I just changed it to it's basic name until I can look up the characters later.
I don't remember the exact character that Alex used for his forum, so I am going to wait until either Francis or he fixes it.
On top of this, I think it should be noted that any special character (including the ones in usernames) will be translated into an odd "code." This makes me glad that I implemented the regular expressions for usernames at registration (which means, only common characters can be in usernames at registration).
Right, so basically, if a post seems to have a messed up word, please disregard it, as it's an artifact from importing the database.

Ben, you are godly... The apostrophes and ellipses got messed up in my blog, but I fixed the majority of them by simply editing my blog[s]...

If a link in someones sig is http://www.virtualteen.org and you're browsing VT with http://virtualteen.org ... (or vice versa) it will log you out.

Ok the post I made in this thread (#27) When I push the rep button it says "Your reputation on this post is somewhat negative" and the comment is "you have been acting very childish lately". It didn't take away any rep points, but just telling you. Not a big deal.

But it only shows up there and not on my control panel and it didn't take away any rep points. Plus the post was only up for like 2 seconds and I clicked it and that's what it said.

Jared, I don't see any reputation comment of that nature that was recently given to you. If you don't see it in your UserCP and you haven't had a deduction of points, then chances are that it is simply artifact data that will go away after the next table repair.

That's not very helpful. We've already seen that it's happening by the screenshot already posted.
What were you doing when this happened? What thread was it? Whose post was it? What browser are you using? Is this problem still happening? What can we do to get the same results?
Serenity
April 13th, 2008, 07:45 PM
It's pretty sporadic and as far as I can tell it only happens after I use Quick Reply. Granted I almost always use Quick Reply, so that might not necessarily mean anything. But yeah I type up my post, click post, and when the page refreshes the icons get all screwy. Not every time, though- like I said it's sporadic. I'm on Firefox atm.

Might have something to do with the fact that I recieved that rep xD
In my user CP i've got negative rep with the comment "You have been acting very childish lately." Then it links to your post lol.
If an admin could sort this out that would be great xD

I just experienced the bunched up icons next to a person's post. It does look like a loading problem. A refresh made it go away easily.

I think I have the answer to the wierd rep thing. I got some postive rep from someone, and it linked to a post not of theirs. I think this is because it links dirctly to the post's individual number, so some of the posts being lost from vt in the crash would link the rep to another post. Make any sense?
iJack
April 19th, 2008, 03:53 PM
^^ yes, kind of
The Batman
April 19th, 2008, 04:45 PM
Actually since the data was recovered it wouldn't be from the crash it would most likely be from someone pruning that thread (deleting posts in it).
Mzor203
April 19th, 2008, 04:55 PM
Maybe, but when the posts were restord, some were lost, like by going away post.
Kiros
April 19th, 2008, 06:56 PM
I think that explanation is correct. When the vbulletin_post table crashed, I worked on it and tried to get some posts back up, so the site was open for a day with just a few posts (about 100 that would randomly show up in odd threads). Blogs were still up as well, so when I did the final restoration, the posts were slightly old, but the reputation, blog, and user data was completely up-to-date (as I thought people would complain about losing reputation or a blog post).
Everything should be fine now with the exception of the several oddly-placed reputation comments...

Kiros
April 20th, 2008, 06:34 PM
Alright, the topic has definitely been cleared up, and we know that the missing threads are either caused by a senior staff member deleting them (which wouldn't happen unless the entire thread was in some violation) or it was a co-owner's mishap. Before we get more posts like "Thanks!" or "Awesome!" or any other useless posts, this thread deserves to be locked.
Jake, if you are still worried about the matter, I recommend contacting your co-owner (if you have one). Otherwise, PM me, Alex, or Francis of the matter and we'll probably be able to help.
Thank you, everyone.
