Hi All,
I just met a guy and he claimed that he lost his virginity at the age of 23. Do you think this is weird? No problem with the guy at all, good looking, intellinget etc.

I wouldn't say weird, but it's later than normal I'm 18 in July and still am

Not weird at all. Some people either just don't want to lose it at a young age...or they just don't click with people physically or sexually until they are older.

Has it got more to do with who he lost it to? If he was waiting for the right person, someone he loved and not drunken casual sex, then he sounds like a good guy

Exactly.
The rare gem I would say...
'Virgin at 18' is becoming an 'endangered specie' these days...

There isn't normal or not normal time to lose virginity . It's his personal choice , maybe he wanted to lose it with right person ... :D

It's not weird, maybe it's weird though that he's making friends with 14 year old girls. Unless you like having his attention?

Some people have beliefs that they should not have sex before marriage so it doesn't really surprise me... it's interesting to notice we think the age people usually lose their virginity earlier than that.

I don't think it's weird, people have reasons why they abstain from sex. Is he really hot? I think I might have doubts if he was really hot and he said he was a virgin cause I know girls would be trying to get with him. Is he religious? Is he socially awkward? maybe you should ask him why he remained a virgin?

There's nothing wrong with losing your virginity in your 20s or later.
We need to stop making people feel bad (or pressuring them) by giving the impression that they are "late" in life to start having sex.

It's a little weird. Definitely older than average, but nothing wrong with it either.

My eldest brother is 28, nearly 29 and is still a virgin. He is really open about it and not ashamed at all. Its not that he is weird, or has no friends or no life, he has had plenty of opportunity from what he says and girls are always all over him (I cant see why but hey!).
He just says that it was never right for him yet but he seems really confident that it will happen when everything just falls into place. I kind of admire him really. He has 4 younger sisters excluding me (6 of us in total. 1 boy 5 girls) and all the other four have lost theirs so they say and all before age 18! All 4 say they regret their first time and so I think I will follow my brothers example!
Edit: I forgot to say that my brother does not drink alcohol, like never. Only been drunk once ever he says and didn't like it. When I asked about the whole virginity thing he said he thought he hadn't lost it stupidly when he was younger because he was always sober and most people in his friend group always lost theirs while drunk. Just thought this was an interesting thought about if the two were linked?

I don't think its weird at all and is more of a personal choice. No one should ever be put down because they have chosen to be a virgin for any point in his or her life... he has my respect and for me I want to remain a virgin til I meet that someone special

That's not weird at all. It just means that he doesn't want to have sex for the sake of having sex.

It's not late in life. I would respect a guy like that

Its not weird at all and totally normal for some people as not all people are the same. There is no set age to lose you virginity.

Nope not weird at all. All guys and girls are different. I think it is important to find that right person first that you feel really comfortable with before having sex. Some people like myself found that at 14, some have had sex even younger, and some lost their virginity even older.

I'm 20 and still holding my V card. I am the type of person that doesn't look for sex. If the opportunity presents itself and I am ok with it, then yeah sure.

Nope. Nothing weird about it. Obviously, most guys have done it by 18 or 19 (so have most girls). But there's nothing weird about it at all. I find it sort of interesting . . . perhaps he should spend a little time with me . . . . he he.
