I've been out since November 2013 but I still struggle to accept myself as gay. It's ironic. I'm the GSA president at my school and accept everyone else pretty easily, but I can't seem to accept myself, no matter how much I want to. If you have any advice please share

I didn't expect myself as bi for years I hated myself but when I excepted it was easier. I don't know how to make yourself except it but just do what makes you happy

There is no advice anyone can give you that will help you with accepting yourself, it is something that you will have to do in your own time, you will know when you are ready/when it happens. Just continue to love yourself, walk proud, and be who you are going to be. Okay? Btw, Ive been out since I was 10.

I think you are trying to get approval of others, which isn't always needed. We each have a different story to tell. As long as you stay true to yourself, you should be fine. Try to keep yourself positive and not compare yourself to others. Be a landmark of your own. :)

This is true, but I don't know how to stop wanting approval. Not comparing myself to others sounds great in theory, but I've never been able to accomplish it, no matter what I do.

Try not to think about it too much. Like I always like to say, your sexuality doesn't define who you are, so try not to let it have that effect on even your own mind. :)

This thread is helping you and I since I'm having the same struggle. I think these quotes are important to remember.
...continue to love yourself, walk proud, and be who you are going to be.
...just do what makes you happy
