It's not too much different from 7th grade, although you might have to take an exam this year before you enter high school, depending on where you live. 8th grade, in my school district, was in a wing of the high school, so 8th grade for me was kind of like a slight introduction for high school, but regardless of where your classes will be held, I'm sure that a lot of stuff you do this year will be in preparation for starting high school.

HELL. Everyone starts becoming a total bitch, body odor starts kicking in and if no1 tells you like to do or if you hate baths, like me, you'll be ostracized without knowing why and girls will randomly be offering to buy you soap. Hormone imbalances so expect crazy mood swings- it's a mess. 8th grade was the only school year I was depressed. I hope you are spared that.
As for practicalities: 8th grade is like 7th grade, only you graduate and subjects become a bit more difficult. May God watch over you in this year and good luck

For me it was Hell, I had dick heads bothering me my whole school career, but it got worse in grade 8 like the guy above me says. For me it wasn't really odor related but it was just nerd/geek related.

8th grade was fun, prom and graduation. Connected to each and every one of my classmates. I was the head bitch in charge, and I was that evil bitch that you'd fear because I would steal your chicken fingers, peach cups, and gum. I ran the school, I controlled my puppets. I was also excellent at puppeteering. Be my friend but you had to sacrifice your soul. I would make my bfflbiutbta get me lunch because I was a lazy fucker. I would suck out the secrets in everyone as I invited them to my parties.
jk that never happened but yes, I enjoyed my 8th grade year no matter how much fucking shit I went through
thank god for high school tbh, it gave me the chance to find out who I am in this environment, and who was really there for me

I don't really remember 8th grade. Same as 6th and 7th grade to me. Same subjects, more or less the same teachers, a tiny bit of high school prep, and applying to specialized high schools but other than graduation, nothing was all that interesting.

can only really give my experiences but grade 8 was cool, went to a small school that still had one teacher and (except gym) classroom for most subjects (other than stuff like french or art or music), although idk how many middle schools use that tbh, mostly was like grade 7 but slightly harder

8th grade isn't really any different from your current grade. :0 Basically some more work, not that bad to be honest. Oh and a graduation. ;D
You might get to tour around a highschool, depending on where you live, but yo! Good luck in 8th! :D

It's not bad at all. Besides some pressure over heading to high school the next year, it'll be like any other year. You may or may not have an end of year field trip (I know a few schools that did, and I was one of them) and you'll obviously have a graduation which can also be fun to go to.

7th grade was the worst for me,but it got much better.People begin to be more mature and begin to focus more on work.I was terrible in almost all classes in 7th grade and straight to honor roll in 8th grade.I stopped focusing on the drama and got involved in Band and Leadership and excelled from there.8th grade was probably my most enjoyable year of school so far.So just pay attention,do your work, pass your classes and distance yourself from the drama queens(kings) and you'll be just fine. Also, don't let bullies walk over you,be firm with them.

Not trying to make it sound terrible because I know of a lot of people who had bunches of fun in the 8th grade, but I hated it. Probably one of my least favorite years right behind my freshmen year of high school. Academics-wise, it's nothing too different. But, for me at least, it was super stressful due to my worry of going into the next year high school. I'm sure it will be nice for you though, you just have to make the best of whatever you get and try to relax through it cause there's only so much time left that you have to take advantage of those nice times to mess around and relax.

There's a lot more drama. Like people start turning against you that you thought never would. At least that's what happened to me. It's a pretty dull year and it goes by fast. 7th grade, however, was amazing for me.

I'm in 8th grade now, almost graduating. It's alright, I guess. You either fit in with a group or you're pushed to the side. There's lots of drama, but I suggest you don't get involved with that. There's lots of pressure about high school and all, too. Teachers expect a lot more from you than in 7th grade. I hate it haha.

8th grade went very well for me. I grew out of a lot of the gawky, childish insecurity that I carried around with me in 7th grade. I became more of a mature, self-aware and confident teenager during that year. Plus, I did well in school and it mattered a lot to me, which made my transition into high school a lot easier. Though I was frustrated with a lot of the limitations on being a middle schooler when I no longer felt like one.
Academically, I don't think 8th grade is all that different from 7th, even though your teachers may talk about entering high school. It is still middle school, after all. It's just another critical year for growing up, as are many of the middle school years (in my experience).

For my school, a small rural one, 7th and 8th grade were together as junior high. It was exactly the same as 7th grade, only classes were different.

Not trying to be snobbish, but 8th grade was really easy for me. I really hated the teachers but I had to kiss up to them so I could get good grades. I was ranked top 3 in the entire 8th grade (nothing below 96) and everyone in school knew me and liked me so I was very popular too. I was featured on many different citywide occasions so many people in the area knew and respected me. In the e d it's hard to let your friends go since it's probably the last time you'll ever see them, not saying it will l, but it could be possible with high school and all that.

Pretty much the same at 7th grade. At least from my experience. The teachers all seem to be a little bit more energetic (Again just from my experience), and the Science/Math courses have more tests.

More easy going than the 7th as far as socializing and routine because you're broken in. Slightly more challenging assignments. I liked the 8th.
