I'm not sure how to respond to this because I haven't been keeping up with the whole nuclear deal very much, but I must say I kind of doubted it was going to work.

There's no actual reason to believe that this is going to halt negotiations.

I like Obama but this Iran nuclear deal is bogus in my opinion.

I'm 99% sure beforeitsnews.com is a troll site
It's not. It just has a hard and unashamed Republican stance which lends itself to awful reporting.

I'm also not sure what reasons there are not to 'trust' Obama with this or believe the deal is 'bogus'.

I imagine much of the negotiation is done through Congress, correct?

No. I don't think Congress has a role at all. It at a multinational delegation with Obama representing the US and I'm almost certain that the senate will have to pass the treaties that arise from it - but I might be wrong on the second part.

I saw a bill for the nuclear deal on Congress.org that was working through congress so I'd imagine a lot of it would have to be done through them because it isn't the president's decision on such things. Congress would have to ultimately agree to it.

I googled and it turns out Obama signed a bill giving congress a say (edt: veto power) this afternoon (~6hrs ago). I would imagine that's the bill you spotted.

So it looks like you're just about correct here.

---

I just hope Congress doesn't do the stupid thing and torpedo the deal. Though the reason Obama did it is obvious. It offers him more leverage in the negotiations. If Iran talks tough he needs just point to Congress.

I believe this was the bill I was talking about: Click Here (https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/senate-bill/615)

I saw it about a month or so ago.

I checked the text and that's the one. There's a surprising number of Democrat co-sponsers.

I guess we'll see what happens though anyway.
