Experience is literally just asking for people with a certain amount of 'experience' (Time put into) in a certain field you have. Not all jobs need experience or else teenagers would never get work and everything would crash and burn, most areas that people apply for to gain experience is retail, fast food, etc (These jobs are usually dominated by teenagers and stores will prioritize hiring them). Experience is usually measured in length and field for example: Job Opening: At least 2 years experience in Retail required.
To be brief:
1. Experience is how much knowledge and time you've spent into a field of work
2. Not in most cases
Hoped this helped, if I screwed up or missed something please let me know.

Well put.

Regardless of where you end up going, you need to start somewhere. Low end foodservice or retail usually doesn't require prior experience, and most chains/corporations will have a training period to help you be a productive employee at their store. It's great to have experience like this on a resume or college application.
