Does anyone want to become friends of Nike+ or Runkeeper? (I use both) I plan on running more often for the upcoming XC season and having a few friends to train/run with will not only help me run more, but hopefully better.

I don't use either of those things because I never run with my phone, it's too heavy for bulky and I don't like those armband things. I keep a running log on good old fashion pen and paper haha. What grade are you going into? Do you actually get workouts from your coach for the summer or are you just sort of on your own?

Going into 9th. The summer workouts haven't been posted this year. But I want to start going on my own until then because I've been slacking since the end of the season.

I wouldn't worry about it too much yet, the season is still far away. Myself preparing for college xc, I'm only running 4-5 miles every other day, fairly slow and on grass or trails. I'll do that for this week and next week, then start to gradually increase mileage each week until the actual season. So there's a long way to go but yea I would definitely get out there and start doing some light work now.

Just an update: Last week was the XC meeting and I did not attend (Parents did not want to drive me), so I asked my friend for the gist of it all and since we are not quite a 6A school yet, the season is going to be much more challenging than the previous, and Coach wants our Summer+ Season weekly mileage to be around 40-50 miles. I may skip the first Summer Workout session (Monday) just so I can get myself running all I can so that on the 2nd session (Wednesday) I won't stick out so much from the group. But I don't count on it because that is 3 days to get sorta back in the swing of things. Wish me luck, I am going to need it

Well I'm sure (or at least hopefully) your coach will realize that everyone has different ability levels. Can't really expect your back of the pack guys to be doing the exact same thing as your elite guys anyway. But best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll do fine!
