So recently I have started showering daily like you guys have recommended to me many, many times and while it may be boring, it's the right thing to do. Yet it doesn't seem to help. I do dance class and the girl I dance with always makes some excuse to spray me with deodorant or perfume or somethin while we're dancing or before dancing.I didn't think much of this but 2 days ago mom asked me 'did you remember to put on deodorant?' even though I had and had showered that morning. This makes me wonder whether, even though I use soap and water, my showering routine sucks or something and I still smell. So my question to you is, what am I doing wrong? Should I buy better soap or something? Am I jumping at straws here? What should I do?
Help is greatly appreciated

Maybe it's how you eat and drink...what's your usual daily food intake?

i would try washing yourself better. make sure you clean every part of your body and hair properly and you aren't just half-assing it because you think it's boring. maybe spritz some cologne on before you go out. also make sure your clothes are always clean and washed. if you keep on re-wearing dirty clothes, that can be a big factor in contributing to a bad smell.

I always wear clean clothes after a shower. I don't have any cologne sadly, just deodorant (scents are really not my thing). As for washing... I just focus on pits and go quickly over the rest. Is that not enough or something?

Bread, fruits (apple, cucumber, tomatoes, some hotdogs), vegetables (broccoli, carrots, beans) and either fish, meat or omelette.
Drinkwise: milk and applejuice.

Some people just smell more Than others. Have you tried strong deodorants ? Your Dr might be able to help

It might mean you sweat more or need to wash your clothes change your sheets...etc. It's not the sweat that makes you smell, it's the bacteria that collides with the sweat glands that make you smell.

It may be an internal issue. People naturally have different and more potent smells than others.

Diet is important to how you smell.

The foods you eat can seriously be responsible. Waste's excreted through our sweat and pores. So if you eat strong foods like garlic or curry also try to eliminate fatty foods and as much sugar as you can.

Still use deodorant though, and make sure you shower as often.

I have a massive problem concerning body odour, and I have began to find ways to stop it being so much.
A) The clothes that you wear, even when they have been washed, may hold some of the odour producing bacteria still, causing even a little bit of sweat to create a bad smell. I recommened using white vinegar, which is usefully. Just add a couple capfulls to the wash/
B) Use a variety of soaps/body washes. Lynx is a good one. Try using a Vaseline body wash, or something like that. And make sure to wash a couple times. For example, if you're in the shower, put your hair shampoo etc in first, then scrub both your armpits with a gentle body wash, like the Vaseline one, and do the same for your genital area, because the genitals can smell really bad too. Then wash all this off, then use the lynx or something like that, one that leaves a nice smell on your body.
C) Use a variety of deodorants. This is what I do, first, I use a dry stick deodorant, then use a roll on. And use reputable brands, as they usually work. TRy ones that have 48h lasting, and ones that leave no marks. Then use a deodorant (Vaseline is another good one. 48h Active Dry), then use a body spray directly to the armpits, then spray all over the body. Try a hint of aftershave, to mask the smell slightly.
D) Get a loofah, I think that's what they are called. Loofahs help to scrub more, or even just use a flannel, that may help.
E) Even if you don't have a shower, wash your armpits. In the morning, and if needed, in the evening.
I hope these help. I use all of them .

Do you wear axe deodorant spray or cologne?

I know in all the Axe commercials, it supposed to make you smell nice. From personal experience, it actually does the opposite. I find that as the day goes on, axe spray stinks and it smells like burnt rubbing alcohol lols.

I try not to wear cologne period. I find it just makes you smell bad than good. So maybe if you do wear cologne or axe spray, it might have a bad smell to it.

Maybe it just might be her and she's being stuck up?

Another thing, people unfortunately have different body odor than others. I know many people who can go days without showering without having any odor. Yet others who have to shower twice a day even.

I can try the loofah bit but hate scented stuff. Any way to skip that part? The tips look good tho; thanks.

That IS an option. I could try brushing teeth before dance class.

I don't use Axe or cologne because I find Axe way too smelly (had to use it cuz of babysitter in a bath as bubble bath once a few years back after sports when I wasn't doing daily hygiene yet and afterwards I felt like the body odor had been better).
I don't think the girl's at fault due to mom's comment, sadly.
I could try showering bi-daily I guess... :(

Some people have really characteristic smell , no matter how many times they shower . It's just part of puberty .

Maybe you could try with shaving armpit hair , that would help you a lot . :D

Make sure you was all your genital areas thoroughly and also be sure to shampoo your hair as allowing grease and oils to build up in your hair can lead to a bad smell

Lol the advice above looks good I'm sure, just couldn't help but point out hotdogs and cucumber are not fruits xD.

Obviously your smell doesn't really bother you or you wouldn't find a 4 minute shower too boring to bother with!

I mean, surely you realise where you are sweating from before and during dance class? Chances are if your clothes are damp, you probably stink! Bring a change of shirts if this is the case? Also make sure you are changing ALL your clothes, including washing/deodoring your shoes!

Whilst most people will tolerate your body odour without outwardly complaining, we've all been stuck with a stinker at some point, so I can understand her comments if she has to dance with you for an hour!

A few rare people have sweat that actually smells really attractive, I'm guessing you aren't one of them xD. You'll just have to make the effort!

I missed that hahaha( the cucumber/hotdogs thing :) )
I didn't know that thing about the shirts/ shoes; I'll try to deal with that.
Actually she hasn't commented; my mom comments. Still one reason I'm posting is I'd prefer not to gross her out as I enjoy dancing.
Mom makes me, sadly, take at least ten minute showers so they're not four minutes sadly.
Thanks for posting :)

I have to admit I do suck with shampooing apparently (dandruff issues). Think that's what the problem is? Any tips?

Of course it helps , sweat stays on hair , so it smells like shit . When you shave it , you just have to spray deodorant , and VOILA . :D
Ask user "hyperdude" if you don't believe . He had the same problem , I told him same as to you . Anyway , he shaved armpit hair , and he doesn't have problem with smell anymore , and he thanked me after few days . :D :D :D

i would try focusing more on cleaning the rest of your body and shampooing your hair really good. yes, it takes a bit longer, but it's worth it. if that still doesn't work, maybe you should go to your doctor to see if anything's wrong, because it's not usual you still smell like that if you shower or bathe properly.

lots of good suggestions given. make sure you lather your entire body, head to toes, everytime you shower.

i shower usually twice a day, before school and after school, sometimes more. it's hot and humid here so you can get sweaty quick.

I can try that (the washing, not the doctor thing). I guess I could look up shampooing tips as I might just be fucking that up. Or I need to improve pit washing maybe, due to my mom's query on whether I use deodorant or not? I just don't know.

Twice a day seems way too much for me sadly. I don't really do entire body, just smelly parts (pits, privates, etc.) Does that make a big difference?

Sadly, mom makes me take bubble baths with super scented water which require me to soak for 30+ minutes. So while it might work better, I'm really not willing to do so as I prefer body odor over smelling like flowers or some other form of bubble bath and being forced to soak in a tub while I could be playing videogames. HOWEVER, if it is the only alternative... I guess I can try to grin and bear it

Actually I think you have received very helpful advice so far. Now it is time for you to instigate change by putting the suggestions into practice.

Please feel free to report back if none of the suggestions work, but until you've tried them all, I'm not sure what else there is to say.
