Are members of a social group notified when a new discussion is posted within that social group? If not, how may I notify them? Would I have to just send them all a PM?

Thanks.

Members are not notified, so you'd have to notify them separately (or have them know to check periodically). At a quick glance, I'm not even sure if there's a mod for this, were it to be considered (which I'm not saying it would or wouldn't.).. I can take a deeper look later tonight to see, but yeah. It seems like one of those things a lot of people have wanted but doesn't come.

Do people actually still use social groups?

I suppose some do, personally I don't think they're all that useful.

Yeah some people still do myself included. But they really are just a side thing people forget about. They are just mostly used for members who share the same likes or hobbies, or members who are connected to a certain thing, (like living in the west coast of the U.S.) to come together so people don't feel alone here and there are other people who can relate to you.

Oh I know what they are (there's even one dedicated to me :P), but there's almost never any activity in them. Not in the last 3-4 years, anyways.
