Help - complicated relationship

Alright so, about a month ago this girl I really liked told me that she liked me. And after that I told her about my feelings for her and from then I commited to her. I am supposed to ask her out tomorrow.

But it's been awhile since I've seen her, and this other girl that actually goes to my school told me that she likes me. And since I've been her friend for years on end, I have really come close to like her more than the other girl.

So here's the problem: I feel that there is no way of me not asking this first girl out tomorrow because it would break her heart if I didn't. She expects me to because stupidly enough I told her I would. The other girl though, I actually like a lot. I want her not this first girl. I see her more often and we're better friends already. I don't want to be in a relationship that I won't be happy with, nor do I want to hurt this first girl's feelings because she would be devastated.

Anyways, if anybody has any advice I could really use some. Thanks.

When you are in the game of dating and feelings are in play you have to accept the fact that you will hurt other people's feelings.


I'd say follow through with your obligation to the first date and take that date slowly.

Then don't go back to the first girl for a second date and tell her it's not working out between you.

Once you're done dating the first girl pursue the second.


Or make it clear to both girls that your dating non-exclusively, and that commitment to a locked/closed-relationship won't happen until you know for a while longer.
