Basically, it is a piece of cloth worn by Muslim women which covers their head and part of their upper body(The face is normally not covered).
Well, I wanted to see what are your views on the hijab:
-do you find it beautiful?
-do you have friends who wear the hijab?
-why do you think Muslim women wear it?
-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)?
-for girls, do you wish to try one?
Thank you.

I'm a Muslim girl, but I don't see my opinion as being very biased I suppose considering not every Muslim girl sees it the same way. First of all, the hijab is written in many historical texts, not only Islam. It is common these days that it is mostly practiced by Muslims though it should be understood by everyone that it is not the only religion with rules concerning it.
I personally think it's beautiful. I think it helps focus on the important aspects of a women - her intelligence, her manners, etc - while de-emphasizing her physical beauty. Although no women, no matter what she dresses like, deserves any sort of harassment or disrespect, ever.
Yes, I do have friends that wear it and have been considering it for myself as well sometime sooner this year.
I never see a white person and immediatly think they're going to stab me, or a black person will shoot me, a Mexican will drug me, etc...Those are all stupid stereotypes and generalizations, and unfortunately the media has contributed to a heavy amount of negativity towards Islam/Muslims as a whole. Nobody should be condemned for any faith they follow or not. The media speaks very incorrectly about Islam and its rulings on the hijab - it is in no way a form of oppression (in some situations it may be but that is individualized, not what is in its text). And again, it's not only an Islamic thing.
The hijab is not just to dress modestly by the way - if you wear it but you have a bad attitude, you are not fulfilling its purpose. And it is not to judge that a girl who does not wear it is any bad, she might even be better than one who does. So it's more than just covering your hair and body. Many girls wear it because it gets them closer to God, they feel comfortable and cleansed within it, etc..there are numerous reasons though overall the choice is made to strengthen ones faith.
Thank you for asking :)

This sums it up pretty nicely.

do you have friends who wear the hijab? No but that's because I didn't have many Muslim students in school. I have seen women wearing it but I wasn't exactly ever intimidated or affected by their dress really.

I am an agnostic male. Personally, I think people should be able to wear religious outfits, if they want to. I think society is increasingly xenophobic, and that attitude needs to be stopped. However, in court, I think that the Burka should not be worn, only a hijab, only for transparency.

-do you find it beautiful?

I think hijabs are a great fashion statement.

-do you have friends who wear the hijab?

No i do not have any friends that wear hijabs.

-why do you think Muslim women wear it?

I think they wear it because it's a cultural thing.

-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)?

No, a person who wears a hijab or a burka is brave, especially in todays society here in America. That's just my opinion.

I got a lot out of your post :)

I guess personally I don't think too much of it. I understand it is a religious/cultural thing. it is not for me, but have no problems whatsoever with them wearing it

-do you find it beautiful? - I wouldn't say beautiful, but I'm definitely not going to complain if a woman is dressed modestly. women who want to dress modestly should be commended imo.
-do you have friends who wear the hijab? - I only know one Muslim IRL and it's a dude, so no.
-why do you think Muslim women wear it? - to the best of my knowledge, modest dress is proscribed by Islam, although the garment was already historically worn before that.
-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)? - I've seen a grand total of one or two Muslim women wearing it IRL ever, and no I didn't feel threatened by it.

-do you find it beautiful? :-somewhat
-do you have friends who wear the hijab? : -no
-why do you think Muslim women wear it? -culture, modesty, religion
-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)? : -honestly, I've made a thought about it but do I feel threatened? No. If they are acting shady/suspicious then I'd be concerned.

don't see why it would be "dangerous" anyways lmao

Do you find it beautiful?
In fact, I do find it beautiful- not because of what it is but because of what it represents. Religion does not enforce it on the ladies, some choose to wear it and others don't.

Do you have friends who wear the hijab?
Yes, two of my extremely close friends both wear hijabs.

Why do you think Muslim women wear it?
I think women wear it to retain their modesty and their dignity, but also because it helps a person to focus more on their identity and their personality as opposed to their figure and their looks and I think that in itself is fantastic.

When you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous?
Of course not, the issue with society nowadays is that when we see a woman wearing a hijab many claim they are being oppressed but that isn't so, the women/girls have chosen to wear it. We shouldn't judge, we should see another human because regardless of religion we are all beautiful people.

I believe anyone should be able to wear what they want without discrimination or prejudice. Whether it is a burka or a hijab or simply a crop top with short shorts. The woman's body is hers only, her clothes do not define her as a person and we as a society need to learn that.

-do you find it beautiful? Yes, it's quite intriguing.
-do you have friends who wear the hijab? I only have one friend who wears a hijab.
-why do you think Muslim women wear it? I thought that they wore it because in their religion it is believed to preserve their modesty in public and in front of men (excluding close male family members such as a husband or a brother or a father, etc.)
-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)? Nope, it's a part of Islam and the majority of Muslims are peaceful and kind people.
-for girls, do you wish to try one? It's not a part of Catholicism so unfortunately I have no immediate urge to try one on

Do I find it beautiful? - Sometimes, some girls really know how to make it look nice and coordinate it with their outfits.

Do you have friends who wear the hijab? - Yup, I know many

Why do you think Muslim women wear it? - for religious reasons, it's a form of modesty (but just because a woman doesn't wear it doesn't mean they can't be modest)

Do I find people wearing hijab dangerous? - Of course not, darn stereotypes!

Do I wish to try one? - I've been wearing hijab since I started 6th grade :P

Personally I don't find it 'beautiful', that's not the right word. It's interesting but I don't find hats or head coverings attractive on women in girls in general.

No, I don't know anybody who wears it.

I imagine they wear it as a symbol of modesty, and as a guard against the sun in hot desert climates.

No, that would be ridiculous. Finding somebody wearing a hijab dangerous would be thinking everybody wearing a cap turned sideways is a gangbanger.

No.

do you find it beautiful? I find it sad and depressing.

-do you have friends who wear the hijab? Yes

-why do you think Muslim women wear it? A lot of them simply don't have a choice. Try going without one, or with your shoulders uncovered in Egypt for example and you will either be sexually threatened/ragged or stoned (I have met multiple people whom have had this happen to them directly, and more eye witnesses). Even in the UK I have friends whose parents would literally harm them if they dared bring 'shame' and 'dishonour' on their family, by not wearing one. Some misguided individuals wear one believing it their 'religious duty'. The irony of course is that the most beautiful, unchanging feature a woman can possess are her eyes. And they are never covered. Instead, it's her body and hair that must be covered. And we all know how easy and often girls change their hairstyles. It really depresses me how these girls spend so much time making their hair look gorgeous, then have to hide it all away in case, heaven forbid - a MAN should see. It's all very unevolved, heteronormative, women's rights oppressing nonsense. But we mustn't speak out against it. Because a 3000 year old book demands it. So it must be true :what: .

-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)?
I find it depressing and I feel sorry for her.

Well, I wanted to see what are your views on the hijab:
-do you find it beautiful? Yes; some people may think it is not but I do because the people underneath are beautiful as well :)
-do you have friends who wear the hijab? Possibly back in elementary school
-why do you think Muslim women wear it? I have always believed that it was due to religious reasons... I have never questioned it as it has never bothered me.
-when you see a woman wearing a hijab, do you view her as someone dangerous (like if you see her while being in a plane or train)? Nope
-for girls, do you wish to try one?
Thank you.
No problem :)

I pity them when I see it
It's not bringing them closer to God or any such thing- it's just about make superiority in their culture
Modesty?! So men won't think impure thoughts or want to rape them?
Nonsense, totally weak willed more like
