Need help with texting my ex!!!

Me and my best friend in the entire world dated, and it ended badly. Well we broke up almost a year ago and I miss her a lot. Not as my gf but just as my best friend. We used to stay up all night talking about everything and now i don't even know how to say hi.

I just want us to be friends again. I try and text her every once and a while and usually she doesn't text back and when she does the conversations are impersonal and short. Lately she hasn't been texting me back.

How do I text her? A simple "Hey" isn't enough but what can I say?

Best you can do is be honest, short, and to the point.

For example: "Hey, look I know our attempt at a relationship failed but can we go back to at least having each other back as friends? Maybe it's just me but I feel it has been awkward between us which is not how things were when we were just friends, and I'd like to return to that if you'd be willing".



That's really the best you can do and the rest is up to her. It will really come down to specifics on how bad the breakup was and what caused it, and how much emotional damage occurred to her from the fallout.

Some people (female or male) just can't get past the hurt from a breakup and the sense of trust is so shattered that they begin to doubt that person's trust that is required to maintain a friendship.
