This question brings up good and bad memories for me, but it's an important one.

The first time I was asked to do something that I really didn't want to, yet did it anyway, it led to a discussion with the person involved where we were not only able to remain friends, but have an on-again/off-again sexual relationship that we both have enjoyed a lot. I don't want to give the details in a public forum, but it was a big event for me.

The second time wasn't so good. It really wasn't. I came *this* close to being outright raped. While I sometimes like dominating and being dominated sexually this went *way* beyond what I was ready for with that person. The hardest thing was that I felt like this person and I could have been long-term friends (or fwbs), but after this, and them not even making the effort to understand my feelings, I had to cut them out of my life, and we haven't spoken since. It was a terrible betrayal.

Since then, I've been much more careful about who I get involved with. I'm generally up for new things, but there needs to be discussion about what it is and what we both would get out of it. I *expect* my partners to tell me what they'd like to do to me and with me, and don't spare the language. It's a good thing, you know? With that being said, though, there's a place and a time for that kind of conversation. ;)

Sorry for the long reply. It's one of those things that touches some nerves. The opportunity to post about it is very liberating. :)
