It's done in the USA cos hygiene reason's , however it also became popular to try and stop wanking. Most Americans are religious

I am not sure where you are from but I am from the UK. The Americans did invent the Internet and that legacy is still very much aparant given the number of American websites.

I agree with you that circumcision is practiced in America mostly for reasons of social intertia rather than any proven medical benefit. It has been a hotly debated topic here from time to time - you could search and read some of the arguments.

One of the good things about the Internet is it enables conversations and debate to happen across country boundaries that never would have occurred before and this is a case in point.

Obviously that is their primary purpose. As I have said in previous threads on the same subject it seems to me every guy should practice putting a condom on when he is at ease, i.e. on his own and not under any pressure. That way when he does have sex and needs to use one for the first time he is likely to find it easier rather than let the excitement and pressure get in the way.

Having practiced putting a condom on what would you do next? You could take it straight off again but I reckon once you have it on you may as well masturbate with it on, see how that feels and watch the tip fill up as you cum.

Having done it once it is up to you. If you are happy with how it feels, prefer the ease of cleanup afterwards and either have a source of free condoms or can afford to buy them then it's fine to continue to use them for masturbation. Personally I am not bothered about the cleanup, I am uncircumcised and have no need for lube, prefer to feel my hand directly on my penis and, when I cum, I like to see the fountain and feel it land on my chest/belly so, like most guys I suspect, I prefer to masturbate without a condom.

Lube is also avaialble separately - one does not have to use a condom to get lube.

I don't think it's really considered genital mutilation in the US. It's done for a variety of reasons. This site has a couple of places where circumcision is explained and discussed in great detail.
