If you did, what was it like?

I've never had it but my older sister did. She was at the hospital getting her gallbladder removed. The doctors checked her appendix and they saw that it was about to burst, so they had to immediately remove it. My sister didn't know it was in that state though, she didn't feel any pain or anything.

So how about you guys?

I haven't, but a good friend of mine did before I knew her. She was having bad stomach aches for a while, but both her parents and her doctor dismissed it until she started throwing up. At that point, she was properly diagnosed and she had to have it removed (obviously).

I haven't had it, but seems like it can be highly variable. I've known people who had it and it was
intensely painful and the surgery was done more or less on an emergency basis. Then I knew a
girl who was thought to have it, had emergency surgery, and it turned out there was nothing
wrong with her appendix but there is some other disease that mimics appendicitis enough to
fool a doctor and that's what she had. And I've heard of people being quite sick for a long time
because of appendicitis that was not diagnosed. (Including some that died from it, but that was
a long time ago.)

One of my old friends had it one time. She was in a huge amount of pain when she had it and she had to have surgery. I don't remember much about it, though, because it was like a year or two ago.
