I have never tried but I was thinking the same. I think if I ever wanted to try a sock for that purpose I'd be looking to put it on at the very last minute.

I don't supposed anyone would own up to getting balanitis this way but it sounds like a risk if it is a worn sock, more so if it is a short sock and your penis goes closer to the toe end.

I guess the attraction of the sock is that it is a combination of easy cleanup with not having to worry about aiming.
