During a masturbation session I noticed a swelling on the left side of my penis just under the head in the foreskin (im circumsised). I freaked out and stopped right away. The next day I decided to take a closer look. It seems that now when I get an erection a chord/vein like swelling (not a lump)appears in the mentioned area, which gets larger and more prominent the more aroused I get. It is painless and when I gently press it, the swelling goes down(but not completely dissappearing). Feels almost like a liquid building up? Now Im really freaked out cuz this has never happened to me before and I cant really ask a doctor or my parents about as it is only ever visible during erections. Has anyone had something like this? If so how did it go away? Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Google hasnt been very helpful giving me hundreds of possible ailments:confused: HELP PLEASE

Are you sure it's not a vein swelled up with blood? I have a really big vein on my cock that's only visible when I'm hard. It's very normal to have one(or more) on your penis.

Yeah, I noticed a while back that I had the same thing. But its only when I get real hard (might have to do with all the blood flowing up there) Mine doesnt hurt at all but it is noticeable if Im in the mirror and my cock is real hard. Dont freak out, sometimes our bodies do werid and wonderful things. You should ask yur doctor if your worried. Dont be embrassed though, im sure they have seen thingslike this before. I had to get hard all the way once when I was 14 for my doctor. Talk about embarassing! But thats why they get paid big bucks lol.

With my vein I can't really tell a distinct color other than my skin color. When I press down on it,it fills back up with blood while I'm hard.It is isn't visible when I'm soft. When I massage it,yes it goes down a bit but fills back up seconds later.Sorry,I can't think of anything that could be except a vein.

Yeah I have no pain whatsoever either. I just dont think I have the guts to get hard in front of a doctor lol and if I went to a doctor id have to tell my parent also. Any clue what it is and have you managed to get rid of it or is it still there?

Yeah mine sounds almost exactly like it, the colour of my skin and everything and even after i get it to subside it swells back up pretty quick if im still hard. When im soft its not visible but it kinda feels spongy where it usually appears. You sure its just a vein, even if its skin coloured?

Do you have a fatherly figure or brother to ask this question too so you won't have to see a doctor? A close male friend? It would probably be easier getting hard in front of them than a doctor.

I had something like that come up about 2 weeks ago, I'm uncut so it's visible when soft as well its not painful but it just appeared after wanking. I did feel something go when starting but just carried on. I'll probably see my gp next week or go to a walk in clinic

It doesn't sound dangerous , based on what did you write . But anyways , if you're scared or it starts to get worse , visit doctor in that case . But as I said , it doesn't sound dangerous . :D
BTW , it never happened to me . :D

it looks like you got penile varicose vein...
I don't think that's dangerous, but you can always ask your doctor...
Or, it can be a more serious condition:

I hope that helps and I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier

If you're circumcised, you don't have foreskin. I'm assuming you have what is called a "loose" circumcision where the skin sort of bunches up by the base of the glans when soft. You might also be able to pull the remaining skin over the glans somewhat.

If it's painless, maybe just let it be? But it hasn't happened before, you say. If it continues to be a concern, maybe just bring it up at your next routine checkup.

Unfortunately, this is one of those things that may never be known unless it is looked at by a professional. However, you can easily relax, as your doctor has seen countless naked people before, so you're just another one. He'll forget what you look like long before you leave the office.

I know you don't want to go and see a doctor, but they are trained people that deal wit these things on a daily basis.

Bite the bullet and visit the doctor, nobody here has the medical training or capacity to diagnose the situation. It could be something as basic as 'that's just your physiology' to something major like a blood clot. You simply don't know and we can't tell you. The only way you will know is to have to checked out by a trained professional.

You should definitely get this checked out by a doctor. Shy or not, do it. What if it turns into something serious a year from now? Your whole life is still out there, an hour of embarrassment is probably worth a lifetime of good sex.
