So I was curious because I'm 16 and I haven't had a girlfriend yet, and I wanted to know if I was alone. Also, I got curious as to how old people were before they had their first partner, so I have a general idea of what seems to be normal

there is no normal when it comes to relationships, some people start early and get into relatiomships very young, example being my friends who have been in relationships off and on since age 10, and others who have not had that opportunity, i have friends in collage now who have never dated and they're around age 20. you're not alone at your age not having been in a relationship, you just have to wait for those special people to come around that return your affections and it develops into a relationship. I was lucky to find what i consider my soul-mate at age 13, weve been together now for a year and 2 months going on 3. for us still considered so young, we just know its true love and we are going to stick together no matter what. i wish you the best of luck with the ladies but love doesnt always happen like the movies, wait it out til you find a girl thats right for you. if its meant to be it'll all work out.

I had a "girlfriend" when I was 4 or 5, but I dumped her because she played with one of enemies. I'm starting to realize that I dramatized a lot of my childhood in my head. Never had a real relationship though.

It's different for everyone. I dated girls starting at 12 and had a couple of relationships that lasted several months by 14. Dated my first boy shortly before turning 15, he's a good friend and we hang out together often and we love each other but not in a forever commitment ever being possible sort of way since I know I'm queer and prefer girls.

Still in my longest seriously romantic relationship so far, with another girl, 9 months+ currently.

It will work out the way it's supposed to, don't be concerned because at any given age you haven't yet done things that your friends may have done.
