Anyone ever asked their parents why you were or were not circumcised?
What did they say?
How did it come up?

I asked my parents why I wasn't circumcised.
They told me she was afraid of the risks and the complications, if, she had me circumcised. I brought it up because I was having certain issues pulling back my foreskin, and other reasons. My parents weren't so hesitant, they're open to the idea if I ever wanted to be, whether it be now or later in the future.

In the Philippines, where I come from, circumcision is a norm. You have to have your penis circumcised at the first stages of puberty. Some guys happen to avoid it until they reach 21, but eventually they get into peer pressure and get circumcised in the end.
Since you guys actually have a choice, I think it's a lot easier for you even to talk to your parents about it. I was going to ask my dad to delay my circumcision, which is a totally different situation from you, but either way they said that they would support me to whatever makes me feel good and be happy, but they still had decided I was to be cut. As for you, my advice is to let your parents know your side; tell them how a circumcision might or might not bring you discomfort as you grow older. If they speak out their side during your conversation, let them do so since after all they are your parents. Whatever they decide for you, you need to understand that they must have already put in their minds the pros and cons of their decision.
I wish you luck!

Never asked my parent's why I wasn't, I know it's not common in the UK , however my dad is. I think they wouldn't mind me asking but I'd be to embarrassed

I don't see reason to ask them . I'm same in that segment as most of guys here , so ... :D

Erm, I heard that it was for "hygiene purposes". I suppose that's why they did it. Though I do think that religion/tradition/social norms played a part in it.

No one in my family is cut so never knew boys did get circumcised until I started school and saw a cut penis. My parents told me they thought me and my brothers should keep with what we were born with.

it is normal around here so I never bothered asking

It only came up in conversation when I needed it done.
I guess the fact it's not normal to be circumcised here means it don't really get discussed much.

Mine said it was for hygiene. They didn't use that word, said something more like so you don't
have any trouble keeping it clean. And that some boys can't keep it clean and
have to be circumcised, and that's much more trouble than having it done when you are a baby.

It's not normal to be circumsized in Britain so I never was and as it's normal there's no reason for me to ask why I wasn't

The health plan didn't pay for it where I was born, my mother is sort-of-back-to-nature, and my doctor thought infant circumcision was unnecessary. My dad was neutral (he is cut). So all the marbles weighed towards not doing it.

Circumcision is not too common for hispanics, I don't think, or at least it's not common in my family, so if I ask them, they would probably be like "do you want to have it done?" and I would be like "no.." and they would be like "alright then!" xP

I asked when I was younger and they said it was purely for cleanliness (parents were in the medical field). I heard that uncircumsized guys are more sensitive to and are able to have better orgasms?

yes its true. Why? Because the human penis is supposed to have a foreskin, otherwise it wouldnt be here in the first place. Doing any kind of surgery to a perfectly functional organ is total nonsense to me and my parents. nobody ever saw any animal cutting off a piece of their organ.

I am circumcised mainly because it's the popular thing in America, especially the south. And I just asked my mom.
