Does the lack of speed in puberty (around 12-18) affects your final length? I've heard that your growth speed slows down ... But can you end up smaller when you've stopped with growing and had a lack of sleep in puberty?

It's not related , I must say . It's all about genetics and your puberty developing , and you can't change anything about it . :D :D

from what i have heard through puberty we do alot of our growing while we sleep, so there may be some co-relation to what you are talking about, but ultimately i think it has to do with genetics, how much you will grow.

From where I'm from, it's considered a myth--thinking about the relationship of how much sleep you get and the height you end up with in the future. Everyone else in my family who never believed this 'myth' either told me that I need to eat healthy and exercise to grow taller or be in the company of taller men so that I begin to feel taller and look taller to everyone else as time goes on. Hahaha!

Sleep actually does. Your growth hormone is mostly secreted on complete darkness when you sleep, so not only lack of sleep, but sleeping with lights on or in front of tv actually affects your growth.

I think they're both completely different & unrelated:
Growth is more of a Physical change, whilst sleep is psychological?

Based on this research, yes, growth hormone secretion rate is indeed affected by the sleep.

It probably has an influence, but it is very likely to be unsignificant, unless you sleep like 2h per night (and you'll then get much more important problems from lack of sleep way before your growth is disturbed!)

Well, I don't sleep very well, and I'm around 5'9 in height, but my friend who sleeps loads is only 5'6, so I would say it's more down to genetics than to how much sleep you get
