Temperature taking

Hi!
I´ll keep it simple, am I the only teenage girl around whose parents still take her temperature rectally? Both my parents are pretty cool, but Mom is a nurse and she can´t like NOT take work home with her, I guess.

I read all the stuff everywhere that says it´s the best and the most accurate and everything else, but geeeeeeeeeeeze! It´s so embarrassing when Mom or Dad take it! Out of all my friends that I am close enough to talk to about it only ONE still gets her´s taken rectally.

I don´t mind having the thermometer inside me so much. It´s more like the process. When Mom or Dad come in and tell me to pull down my pants or lift my skirt and lay on my stomach, then wait for them to pull down my panties and put it in, and then wait there with it in for 3 to 4 minutes! (Yeah! They use the old style kind because Mom says they´re most reliable!)

Anyone else go through this?

I've never even heard of this method to be honest..If you're uncomfortable, why don't you try talking to them about it?

This sounds like a classic case of Sexual Assault by Thermometer.

You need to get someone to help you take the heat out of the situation,this is best done by degrees.
This whole process should be frozen now before it reaches boiling point.

This should be probed by a police officer or at least a consenting adult.

I have never had the experience sorry that I couldn't be of any help. I have heard of taking the temp of a little baby as Taryn as said before me. Maybe talk to them and let them know how you feel.

There is a following of people who believe that rectal temps. are better than any other kind. There is also a following of people that actually use it as a means of pleasure. Their reasons vary (some it reminds them of being young, some its the thrill of waiting, some its the actual physical penetration) The last forum I was reading about it, seemed to be a wide variety, of people who did enjoy it, or did use it on family members/friends/neighbors for various reasons.

The general consensus there was; if the child does not protest, rectal temperatures may be taken into adulthood. If the child does protest, usually after 7 or unless really sick, they shouldn't be used. Most of the time it turns from being a medical type of need for the person to a more sexual one around puberty.

If you like them, you aren't alone. People have certain fetishes, and certainly anal situations are one of them. (enema, suppository, temperature, penetration, probing, stretching, etc.) To me, it sounds like you don't object to having it inside but do object to having to wait for them to get ready. Maybe you should talk to them about it, and see if there is some other way.

P.S. If you do get turned on, even the slightest bit, that is perfectly natural and quite normal. Even if it is a parent. Having someone (especially someone you trust, although not always) touch areas where people don't normally touch is usually the cause. Mix that with penetration of an object into your body and boom, some type of arousal.

Yes its the easiest way to get your actual core body temp which is the best way to determine if your body has an infection or not and how serious it is.
However a thermometer under the tongue is also a good way to get roughly the same result however this will be a little different as its not your actual core temp.
just try talking to them and asking if you can just put a thermometer under your tongue.

Seriously a bit disturbing, parents shouldn't be coercing or demanding you expose yourself to them to insert ANYTHING.

Sounds dodgy, if you were sick enough to warrant a most accurate taking of temperature, you should probably be seeing a proper doctor anyway.

Just say you don't find it okay, and you won't do it. Say no. It's your body and you have the right to consent to any contact.

Rectal temps are also sometimes used for very sick or very injured people who can't have their temperature taken orally and a very exact measurement is needed.

Gynecologists also sometimes take vaginal temperatures.

The most common way to take the temperature in Denmark is in rectum. We think its the most reliable result. But still if someone is uncomfortable to do that, parents shouldnt force it upon them.
It must be good enough in the mouth or in the ear or wherever it can be done.

If I should take my temperature today, I wouldnt know any better way. But I would definitely do it my self.

I always take it rectally. Usually by myself, but if im real sick one of my parents do it for me :)

WTF!!!! I would tell your parents no more rectal temperatures. That is just got to be real humiliating to have to pull your pants and panties down in front of your parents and have them stick a thermometer in you ass. With all the technology they have now in thermometers my Mom just uses one that scans mt forehead and it is done.
