I'm sure everyone has heard about it. It's a huge deal in my opinion that this has happened. To read up, check out the following articles:

Nepal earthquake: Homeless urgently need tents; death toll above 5,200 - CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/29/asia/nepal-earthquake/index.html)

Nepal Villages Cut Off by Earthquake Wait for Aid as Death Toll Passes 4,000 (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/28/world/asia/nepal-earthquake.html?_r=0)

This is a disaster that has surpassed the death toll of events like 9/11(2,996 deaths (https://www.google.com/search?q=death+toll+of+9%2F11&oq=death+toll+of+&gs_l=serp.3.3.0l10.8710.10340.0.12968.14.10.0.3.3.0.144.982.4j5.9.0.msedr...0... 1c.1.64.serp..2.12.999.eV-TFIofYk8)) and the sinking of the Titanic(over 1,500 deaths (https://www.google.com/search?q=death+toll+of+titanic&oq=death+toll+of+titanic&gs_l=serp.3..0.53424.55370.0.55536.12.8.1.3.3.0.103.739.7j1.8.0.msedr...0...1c.1 .64.serp..0.12.760.I_LzT0zkC2M)). It is a terrible disaster, but I don't think enough people are really understanding the impact of it. This might be because it didn't happen in America and that's why a lot of people here aren't really discussing it much, but if you have thoughts you'd like to share about this disastrous quake, then feel free to leave them here.

It was truly saddening to hear about the Nepal disaster. The earthquake combined with the the avalanches on Mt. Everest have done the country massive damage both in terms of life and infrastructure. It will take a long, long time for things to return to normal.
I saw one of the videos that captured some extent of the devastation. In the two minutes' CCTV footage of a marketplace, a wall crumbled, people ran around screaming as a wall of ice and earth advanced from the mountains surrounding the place from three sides. And all through the havoc, there was cheerful music blasting in the background. It was eerie to day the least.
