Welcome to the Calendar!
After reading the Non Self Harm Calendar (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3861), I got this idea.
Depression is something that can really affect people in negative ways. It's a horrible feeling to experience. And I know alot of people go through it daily. This is more of a thread for those who are dealing with very serious depression, and where they can acknowledge that they are strong even in the difficult time. But it's not just them, everyone is welcome here. :)
So, just like the Non Self Harm Calendar thread, every day you don't experience depression, write it down here :)
And always remember:
The Reason Most People Give Up, Is Because They Look At How Far They Still Have To Go, Rather Than How Far They Have Come

I don't know. The self-harm calender works because you can keep from self-harming with willpower, but depression is different. People may have control over their bodies, but their minds are different. Depression doesn't just come and go on a day-by-day basis.

Berea is absolutely right.
I don't doubt your good intentions, but this thread is almost insulting to people that deal with depression.

I'm sure what Bright Nights means is that every day you have a good day or feel stronger is when you post

That's also insulting to me? Is it not?
With your choice of words, I have the right to tell you that the Non Self Harm Calendar is insulting to people who deal with self harm. Yet it's a sticky and very successful and self harmers have seen no fault with it?
Dying Ember You're absolutely right! Just like in the non self harm calendar :)

You can turn around a sentence in almost any context.
I'm not quite sure that this thread belongs in this section because depression simply does not work like that. Depression isn't something that you can quit and is not an addiction, like self harm. The Non Self-Harm Calendar exists to help people work toward their goals of overcoming their addiction. Depression isn't something that you can choose to, or not to, go though, and to be frank I think keeping track of days that you're feeling depressed is more counter-productive than anything. Therefore, I am locking this thread :locked:
On a side note, I think a better way to go about that would be something like "what progress did you make in your recovery today?" or "what obstacles did you overcome today?" rather than a calendar style thread where you say when you are/aren't feeling depressed -- that can be extremely discouraging to some people while trying to recover, or could potentially help them stay in that irrational mindset.
