You do know that for less than half of that, you could build a really good computer. There's no need to spend thousands of dollars off the bat, when you can slowly invest the money. But hey, who am I to say?

The first computer seems like a better deal.
The second computer comes with DVD burners (which I highly doubt you'll ever use), Alienware stuff (just over-priced. It's good, but too expensive for what it is), McAfee (not the best Anti-Virus out there), and what seems like some useless software.
On both builds, there are DVD burners.. There's no need for that extra expense.

You don't have to listen to this, just putting my opinion out there...

I'm not a pro when it comes to computers, so please explain how is it useless software? Also I cant make a computer and I'm sure itll be more expensive to buy all the parts separately.

Also DVD burners aren't expensive and they are useful to have for old games ect.

The second computer has MS Office bundled in with it. If you are using the computer for gaming, Office is a bit useless.

Building a computer is easy. I can't remember the website, but there's one where you can order all the parts at the same time. Building your own is generally more cost effective

While that is true, there's no use for 2 of them. The max needed is one...

Did you mean PC Part Picker? (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/pcpartpicker.com)

Yeah, actually it is cheaper to build it yourself because you wont be given the extra tax. not to mention these two companies seem to be giving you software that is pretty much gonna bloat your system if you don't use it. they skimped out on graphics too, which leads me to believe what they're offering are simply business machines. you don't want those for gaming.

here's a parts list for a computer that would sell for about the same price as what you were offered.

Good ol' Linus has plenty of guides on building computers, they're easy to follow so it makes it easy for first time builders.

the first computer can be built or bought cheaper, and if you don't want to have to upgrade, spend the extra money on maybe an i7 processor, or just an i5 k. Graphics, I would go with NVIDIA, great company. you won't need disc burners, and you might want more RAM for more intensive gaming (especially if you plan to do YouTube). and simply don't go with Alienware. grossly overpriced for mediocre computers. pretty much the Beats of the computer world. you're just buying the brand

as an example:
I bought my computer on sale for $600 bucks
it has an Intel i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760, 1TB of storage, it works great for me. that was bough, but building would be even cheaper
