Hello all,

So I'm in college now and for the first time am sharing a room with another person. When I masturbate in my room, I always lock the door and turn out the lights just in case. A couple of times recently though, my roommate (thinking nobody was home) simply unlocked the door and came in, turning the lights on. Luckily, due to hearing the key turn in the door, I was able to cover up my penis as best I could, but he still saw me pulling my pants up and the locked door with me inside has an obvious connotation. I have also almost caught him doing something in this way.

Needless to say, neither of us has mentioned it. So what should we do? Should I stop masturbating in the room, or try to memorize his schedule? Should we talk? For folks who have shared a room, how did you deal with it?

i would talk to him about and maybe you can come up with some kind of signal to let the other know that something is going on in the room and to come back in a few minutes. i have heard of guys putting a color coded post it on the door to let the other know not to come in at that time, maybe you can do something like that.

I think you need to be at the point where you both take it for granted that each other masturbate and can mention it in conversation even if you don't go as far as doing it openly even if the other guy is in the room.

Then I'd use your roommates schedule so you choose times when he is busy doing something else so he isn't going to be needing the room but if you can agree a signal that means "doing something private, please stay out" that would be a bonus. You don't have to be explicit about what you;'re doing - you could use the same signal for "I have a girl naked with me" as for "I'm masturbating".
