Sooo I'm graduating next year (class of '16, sup?) and I am really undecided about what to do. The only thing I know is that I'll keep living at home (same house as my parents, but own flat with seperate entrance). What I could do is: take a year off before university and do stuff like charity service. OR I could directly go to university (realllyyyy undecided about the course) OR I can start a nursing program (nursing is not a college thing here in germany) that lasts for 3 years, I'll have a salary for all 3 years, I get some insights in the job, maybe it'll inspire me about what I want/ don't want to do and with 21 I'm still not too old for university. I'm just so undecided but in half a year or so I'll have to start applying.
Maybe y'all want to share your plans/what you did/what you want to do after HS graduation? Maybe we can inspire each other or something like that :D

I went straight to college after high school. I wasn't ready for a job and independence and I really wanted to continue my education as well. (Although I wasn't exactly ready for college either). I'm currently going for Computer Engineering at UNIFESP.
That nursing idea doesn't sound bad. Can you quit in the middle with no restrictions if desired?

I went straight to college after secondary school (high school), I didn't fancy doing A levels after I finished my GCSE'S so I do carpentry as I have an interest in construction and am a very hands on person. I couldn't work in an office. However I would consider doing nursing as I love biology.

Apply for university. It's a long year doing nothing ughhh.
If you don't get accepted, then work of course.
I wanted to be a surgeon who does operations on the livers of dead animals and replaces their brains with the brains of human membranes and twas how I planned all of it.
BUT IT FAILED God damn it! Now I failed it all and I'm left to wait for the next year. :<

I went straight to college after graduating high school. I actually just finished my first year lol
I think just continuing my education was the right path for me. I did not know what I wanted to study or any of that, but I didn't want to take a year off and have to work so I decided to might as well go to college.

I kind of want to take political science courses in college but I'm not 100% sure. I'm only a freshman in high school so it's all still a bit far off

I'd do political science in your own time. You can teach yourself just as well from the textbook. Your college is also going to be subscribed to academic journals that can be used for further research on specific topics that catch interest. Though a strong base in statistics is recommended.
I'm taking some politics modules and find them quire unchallenging considering the grasp I'd developed prior. Though I might be weird. Intro to Politics had a >50% fail rate.

I went to college straight out of high school. Honestly, I walked into college wanting to Major in Biology, but after taking one of those, I decided that I didn't want to do that. I took 2 chem classes and 3 Psych classes and decided that I LOVED Chemistry and Psychology. So now I'm a BioChem (Chemistry for pre-medical)/Psychology major. I suggest going to college and doing a wide range of classes your first year or two. I also work two part time jobs in retail, so I do make money, but I decided that I definitely don't wanna do retail for the rest of my life, which actually motivates me better in my studies.

I'm planning to go to university. I'd like to study either compsci or linguistics but we'll see how things go. I don't know if I would want to continue to do postgraduate studies. After I do graduate I guess I'll just live a relatively regular salaryman life.

We broke up with school a long time ago. I'm flirting with higher ranked hook-ups now, THOUGH sadly I can not exhibit my university knowledge, for knowledge is corruption and I shan't feed corruption upon the fellow humans. In short, I am atrocious at teaching.

Wow. People really know what they are doing with their lives. Me, I have no clue. I have 3 years left, and it hasn't even occurred to me until now that I might actually graduate and have to figure this shit out.

Don't worry too much, for most of us, what we want to do and what we end up doing wont be the same thing anyway.

Apply to various universities and colleges for various courses and in the meantime go to the gym everyday and get ripped/bulked - Seriously. Then when tertiary education comes around you'll be looking good, feeling good and you will be good!

Well, I have all confuse this year about I am going to do when I graduate and what course should I study. Recently I just graduate, I am waiting for my final grade to come down for my college transcript, if I fail I screw. I volunteer allot but recently no. I am going too start it again. When I get my grade, I will start to find a part job to again my work experience. I am going to study two years of Business Administration at college. Before that I am all over the place, travel and tourism, food, social worker, counselling and psychology are all my choice. It is never too old for university. My plan is two year of college then one or two years of work then I go back to university to study for social worker. This is my plan so far but I will never know will happen in the future. So I see if it work out.
