I was just wondering if it's uncommon to care more about your sister than your mother. I love them both and all, but for some reason I prefer my sister.

I won't say it's uncommon, I think it's to do with bonds. I prefer my mum over my dad and my twin over my older brother and younger sister. I love them all but I have my preferences.

It is probably more uncommon than motherly love or whatever as siblings are known to fight a lot.

It is not bad or un normal. It really depends on how much you bond with that person

You know what, I guess it could even make a lot of sense. I'm going to assume that your sister is more or less as old as you are, and can relate to a lot of stuff you tell her more than your mother can. And, there are some secrets you want to tell someone but most absolutely not your parents :P

Totally makes sense!

Aren't older sisters bully's..Mine was..
I still remember My elder sis with her friends frequently used to strip me to my undies and get me to wear their old frocks/dresses when I was like 8,9 or 10.....they were bored and wanted fun I guess....

They'd to malls, eat out, parks in a dress+earing and a cap with fake hair..!!!!....I too was really stick skinny and looked girlish at that time..some of my school friends saw me but they did not make me out!!!...

It felt terrible to be stripped to my tighty-whities in front of a bunch of girls and then to be put on a dress and called a girl and being dragged around.......I almost cried....Now I have put on a bit & longer looks girlish...

Actually she's 8 years older than me. But yeah, what you said makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

I never thought about comparing her to my mom. I've always been close to my younger sister and I would tell her things I would never tell my mother. I'm closer to her I think than any other member of my family. There's none of the sibling rivalry that I see my friends do, and that happens between me and my older brother.

That sounds normal. Lots of people prefer certain people over others, no matter what the relationship is.
