I don't really know how to make this sound good, but, well I can't see myself in a relationship with a dark skinned person (I'm white). Like to the point where I kinda feel uncomfortable being around people like that. I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I can't really help it, can I?
I just don't know what to think or do about this anymore. It really bugs me...

Simply put, no. No it's not racist, no it's weird. It's not about racism, it's about what you prefer. I can relate to this quite allot and there's nothing wrong with it, aslong as no racism is involved.

What constitutes as racism then?

I wouldn't care much (at all, really) how people would label me for this is I were you. We all have different physical preferences.
Now to your question, usually people label someone as racist if that someone, obviously, in general hates other races and has superstitions about their personalities because of the color of their skin. How Martin Luther King, Jr. said: "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
If it bothers you so much, then I'd advise to ask yourself what is the real reason you feel like this about "dark skinned person[s]." Understanding something's core nature usually helps. This also goes for most of the hate and anxiety, for me.

Hating them because they're black. That is racist. You're not hating them, you just wouldn't prefer to be in a relationship with them.

That's the changing aspect here. You originally said that you wouldn't want a relationship with a darker person, that's neither here nor there...however, either you're approaching every single person with the intention of a relationship or you have deeper prejudices based on race that you need to work on.
I'm assuming here thought that when you say 'people' like that you meant black/darker people.
Racism isn't always verbal abuse or even intentional harm because of the other persons skin, it is often a lot more subtle.

Okay, I understand and respect your preferences of not being able to see yourself in a relationship with a "dark skinned person", but what I dont understand and may be misinterpreting is when you say "I kinda feel uncomfortable being around people like that", exactly what does that mean? What are you saying there?:what::confused:

I get what you mean about dating someone who darker skin. That's just cos it's not what your attracted to. However I have no problem getting along with darker skin people. I have many black / mix raced friends.

Well, to be honest, I mean what I said. I feel uncomfortable being around or hanging out with people of a darker skin tone. It's not intentional, but I just feel that way. This is probably a bad analogy, but it gives me almost the same feeling I get when I'm near a spider (slightly arachnophobic).
EDIT: and when I say all this, I have no intention to offend anyone or say that one race is better or less than another. I'm just saying how I genuinely feel.

It's a shame you do so mate, but can I really blame anything? I'm fairly aware of racial differences in the U.S., how people of different ethnicities don't fair well off with others, and how people may fear those of different social class and race. Hate me, I'm guilty of being wary of some kinds of people on the street than others too.
But in the end, I really try to adopt a view that everyone is, in their core, a human. Just like you. Independent of culture, preferences, race, gender, whatever. They're a fellow human, and deserve our respect like any other.
I know one doesn't change philosophies from one day to another, but that's mine.

well, I hope that you will be able to get past that feeling of being uncomfortable around people of color because the world is full of them and no 2 are alike and its going to be hard to function in society with those kinds of feelings. good luck.
