Are there any downsides to shaving/trimming my pubes?

I cant think of any downsides to trimming, so you should be alright there, but shaving, some people have gotten rashes, razor bumps, and ingrown hairs, so thats always a possibility. Just be careful with whatever you do. Good luck

trimming has no downsides, but shaving can lead to acne/itching, so you have to be careful, although itching the first time you do it is kinda inevitable sometimes and you just have to wait for it to go away, the second time u shave will be okay

Itchiness, irritation, possible cuts, possible razor burn, possible red razor bumps. Another one people aren't as aware of, you're body has hair for a reason, if it's your first time, use lotion after because your skin can get dry really fast and that only adds to the irritation.
Trimming, not as much but I'm sure there are a few downsides. I mean all the itchiness and most of the irritation usually goes away after a few shaves but that is definitely a downside.

It may take a while to grow but the results are good. I say trim because it looks and feels cleaner, but that's just me.

the downsides of trimming are accidently cutting yourself and shaving the same in addition to ingrown hairs, itching etc. If you don't like your hair, trimming is probably safer and in my opinion looks better than shaving.

Yep. Ingrown hairs, possible cutting yourself. But there's no real physical risk or something like that.

No, if you feel more comfortable like that do it

Shaving: razor bumps, ingrown hairs, irritated skin if not done the right way.
Trimming: even if you're trimming it a considerable length, it would take not so much time to trim again which might be a real hassle

Theres just the risk of razor burn and ingrowns, but if you know what you're doing its ok.

Shaving might give you razor bumbs, I had them for a short while when I first started shaving below, but now I can shave it fine and there are no negative defects.

Once you shave your pubes you have to keep it up or else it will itch pretty bad growing back in. Especially if you shave your balls.

Some people like me find them attractive and it can be itchy. Once you've done it you might regret it and you'll have to wait weeks or months for them to grow back. There are many others. If you want to shave or trim them then just do!
