this may be a weird question but how far do u go before you break the hymen??

Well its a few inches in; not in the exact same depth for every girl but if you put anything in there (fingers; etc.) you'll probably feel it as soon as you reach it; if not then its already been torn through regular day-to-day stresses on it (which is totally normal as well).

it varys girl to girl a couple inches tho

It's located just inside around the opening. It's right across the very inside to cover it.

As has been said, it varies. Although, the vagina itself being on average only 4 inches deep, I don't think the hymen is ever really located a few inches in. Typically it's very near to the opening. If you wear tampons, yours should already be broken, as the tampon goes in all the way to your cervix. If you don't wear tampons, I can't think of a real way to tell. other than to perhaps gently stick a finger in. If it goes in an inch or so with no issues, your hymen may well be broken. Lots of girls break theirs without even realizing it while playing sports, riding a bike or horse, or inserting a tampon.

ya as its been said its only a little bit in and if you are a very active person chances are it already broke. a lot of girls that wear tampons dont even no because they think its supposed to like hurt to put a tampon in.

Actually, I've made a discovery. The hymen is really a thick BAND of tissue around the opening to the vagina, and it doesn't actually "break". The pain associated with a girl losing her virginity is from the tissue stretching, though with a tight hymen (or a large penis, or both) it's possible for some ripping to occur, which is why sometimes a girl will bleed. Depending on how tight a girl's hymen is, a finger or tampon or something small like that might be inserted without anything happening. But typically anything penis-sized will definitely do the trick.
