I don't know if any of you have heard of the tragic passing of transgender youth Taylor Alesana. I find it sad and disgusting that in 21 first century America people are still being bullied for being diffrent.

Bullying needs to really end.
It is interesting Monica Lewinsky might be championing the anti-cyber bullying effort.

People who bully to the point where their victim takes their own life should be charged with murder.

I agree >:-/ High school children should know well enough how to act, there shouldn't be any excuses as to why they don't get punished like any other criminal.

If the administration doesn't do anything I think there are two options to stop bullying. Call the police first, it may seem like overkill but nobody wants to get charged with harassment. Second is to just attack your bully like a maniac, since very few people actually want a fight where the opponent is trying to bite their nose off or gouge their eyes. I wonder if one knew these things if they would still commit suicide?
I highly disagree with option 2.
Fighting in case of immediate necessity because your in danger of physical harm by bullies is the only okay reason to use force, and only enough force to get to safety.
However using force and physically creating a scene causes a Gladiator effect.
Meaning you fighting means they got a rise out of you, and that you are entertaining them.

I highly advise contacting the police or school officials or making self shot video of you getting bullied so there can be evidence for police, parents, and school staff.
If those things don't work, take your video to youtube or the media, just provided that you remained in control and were a complete white knight victim. (Meaning you didn't in emotional turmoil break a rule yourself and did everything by the rulebook).

I would have to disagree on the grounds that there is nothing entertaining about being in a fight, especially with someone angry who wants to hurt you, but I do see where you're coming from. It might take more than one time and more than just the ringleader but eventually the message will get across. However this is just one solution and may not be the best course of action in some cases I will say.
If you are in a fight because someone is angry enough to hurt you, the first part of my last post already applies.
It can be a solution, but rarely are fights fair like in the movies. Sometimes, if there are more than one, they will attack you all at once, and you'll lose a fight or even suffer serious injuries like brain damage.
If you lose a fight it will embolden them, and you might become a laughing stock. For these reasons I really do not like endorsing force, I only talk about it as an option that's available but should be last resort.
I prefer actually gathering evidence, and relying on the law to shut bullies down, and telling adults. Ultimately money talks, and with the invention of social media, adults like teachers and school officials will really pay attention if you go public.
