Best Friends or Brothers?

So ive had difficulty for a while now with how i treat my best friends. To me they are more than a friend, they are my brother. I feel that my need to create a brotherly bond with friends is due to the mistreatment i get from my brothers and the ignorance i get from my dad. This longing for a brother often times scares them away tho... how do i balance everything. Does anyone have any advice?

there is nothing wrong with this. one of my best friends is like a brother in so many ways to me. I think it is a bond which often happens between close friends and often times more so if your actual brothers are not there for you. nothing wrong or out of the ordinary at all

Most people I know consider their bond with their best friend to that of a sibling's. It's perfectly normal.

aw I'm sorry man :( . a lot of people develop a relationship with a friend like how brothers/sisters are supposed to be. a very deep and special bond. as an only child, I do not have a biological brother compared to, but I do look at some of my friends and feel they are like brothers to me

well those types of close relationships take a while, but that is why they are so special

i'm the older brother and i try to be respectful. my brother and i are really close. unfortunately not all brothers are like that. my best friend is as close to me as my brother so i'm really lucky.

I have one brother that I don't fuck with and one that we are closer than anything in the world. We'd kill for each other. You can't drop that kind of relationship on a friend. You have to put in time with your friend to achieve this. Don't rush things.
