I ain't got no idea why he can't pay for whatever he wants, when he has the money. Sounds like he's going crazy or something

you should start asking him to pay for stuff until you're both equal :P

but he is paying for it, he givers her the money to go up to the counter and stuff. it is like he is scared to go up there himself

that could be. I could imagine myself doing that. Or maybe he likes seeing her do that? idk. I knew someone who had an obsession with women when they read magazines... dunno

hmm interesting theory. I did not think about anything like that being a possibility

This trait is very common in people with social anxiety (google it or look around these forums) and it is far from 'crazy'.
You should probably have a proper talk with your boyfriend about why he does it. Only bring it up if you're willing to support him though if he does have some kind of social anxiety.

Next time he does it, just ask him why. Don't make it a big deal, that could make it worse. I can kind of understand what he's doing, I usually get my friends to do that sort of thing for me cause I'm so awkward. But yeah, just ask him politely and gently.

I am the exact same, I cannot pay for stuff. It is a horrible experience when I'm forced to, I worry that I'm going to look like a fucking idiot and not have the right money or something. It's really stupid but it's anxiety.

My guess is that he gets anxious about speaking to cashiers, and finds that situation stressful. Don't take it badly, it is not too uncommon. Just be supportive, and if you feel you should, ask him about it.

Maybe he's not a people person, he doesnt like to be seen closely or pay for stuff where u have to talk, sometimes I'm like that, but I don't ask for ppl to buy my stuff.

My girlfriend is exactly like this. She has a bit of a fear of talking to shopkeepers, she simply gets major anxiety when paying herself. Whenever we go to a shop she'll hand me the money and ask me to pay. It's always been that way with her, I actually find it kinda cute.. :)
Now in your case, I'm not entirely sure though it seems like this is only a recent thing; he hasn't always been this way? If that's the case, it's an entirely different situation, that is a bit more confusing then. That been said though, it could still be anxiety.
